If it’s due to a simple lack of planning/preparation/urgency from Thelwell then we have a big problem.

It depends on the player's view. He could sign for Bournemouth or Brighton, giving him a chance of finishing in the Conference league places and playing in a plastic stadium in front of happy clappers, or ye could sign for one of England's great clubs, 9 times winners of the league, who are currently struggling but have new ownership and who are moving to an amazing new 53,000 seat stadium with ambitions of rejoining the elite. It's up to him.

Yes they do, because of the complex nature of January transfers, player a needs to go to club b so they can get player c in etc etc, they tend to be late in the window.

I don’t disagree with that but sadly I think the majority of modern players only care about 2 things - how good a team is right now and how much they will be paid.
The new stadium has to be a pull but whether we like it or not, we are classed as “perennial relegation strugglers” by today’s short-sighted, biased media. The only way we change the narrative is to start winning games.
