When we sacked Marco Silva in December 2019/we were in the relegation zone and Moyes was tipped to replace him. Chuckling at the response back then;

We've been so battered over the years, we're now a much more forgiving fanbase.

I think that was fair comment by me at the time: not happy but prepared to take him to the end of the season...six years ago when he still had a future.

It's amazing how many times I get things spot on.

It’s possible, defo, but my point is, and always has been that even though that would represent good progress, it also means someone else has to come in at that point and build on foundations that aren’t theirs.

I’d have preferred we started with a younger manager now, who hopefully could make similar progress over the next 2.5yrs, and then continue yet further.
And what if they proved to be incompetent and relegated the club, which just happens to be a massive investment for the new owners?

Also, I’m guessing Americans aren’t so ageist about managers given the most successful coaches in the NFL, etc tend to be old duffers.

Yes, to get us to the summer and hire that new manager.

Straw man argument.

Penny still hasnt dropped. Dyche was done. Finished. Absolutey fk all on the pitch and talking about imaginary wins off it. We're here because of him.
Not bothered about moyes contract length. They are mainly worthless now anyway other than compo.
He's been brought in to keep us up because it wasnt happening under dyche.
Thats it. Nothing else.

People need to stop acting like Moyes is any more or less of a gamble than a younger, more progressive appointment.

PL experience and “knowing the club” have been proven repeatedly not to be of any benefit to us.

I’m going round in massive circles on this so I’ll say it one last time: It might be fine. It might even be an objectively good appointment but it does not fit with what the owners themselves said was going to be the start of an exciting new era for the club. The options were never just Dyche or this. We’ve just been far too narrow minded and safety first in our approach to explore what they actually were. THAT is my problem.

Kept us up twice and out of the relegation zone but 'he wasn't doing it'.

OK.

Except the useless divvy in a piss stained cardigan has nothing in his locker to convince he can keep us up.

That’s the point - based on his record it is by far the least likely outcome.

All managers inevitable have to build on someone elses foundations.

What if we went younger now, they got their players in, built their own foundation, and they absolutely flopped? Someone that has to come in on their foundations.

Look at Martinez - don't think he'd ever complain about the foundation Moyes left him.

I support EVERY single Everton manager. Can you say the same?

But if you feel happy deflecting from your disloyalty by making my loyalty look like a wind up, be my guest...

Like this time ?
