Another thing, I don’t think he would’ve joined if he hadn’t been given assurances that he could bring in some players this window.

Its sensible rather than exciting but after the chaos of the Moshiri years we need a bit of sense. We need to lay strong foundations so that when we do get that young exciting coach he has something solid to spring from. Just because Moyes has 2 1/2 years doesnt mean he will serve them . I cant think of the last time an Everton Manager did see out his contract. If he does its because he is doing well enough that we would all be happy anyway

All spent a lot more money and all didn't do enough to keep their jobs. We aren't a big club anymore - I don't really know who you expected us to appoint mid season in a relegation battle. The best managers aren't coming and the ones with potential are a massive risk.
True. Always thought we should have given Silva more of a chance. It was a risk at the time, but barring Carlo, he's the best manager we've had in years.

Maybe they should have but they weren't and Moyes was. He took that opportunity to build a really good team with very little money.
I'm not denying he did a decent job on a shoestring. But we always go poundshop when we should be aiming higher. Moyes has done nothing since he left us apart from win some Mickey Mouse conference European thingy.

The fact he's saying our from the word go is the right optics. Dyche always spoke about the club as though he was an outsider. Moyes actually cares beyond the money or is at least clever enough to pretend he does.
I think you are right. When he said "ours" my knee jerk reaction was to think, hang on a sec, it's ours not yours. I would imagine Moyes looks back at his first spell at Everton as the best years of his career, regardless of trophies won or not won. The media loved him, but he wore thin with the fans because he stayed too long.

I hate all the people involved in putting us in a position where this guy will likely be our last manager at Goodison and first manager at the new stadium

I know it’s only a symbolic thing, and this is just another period of meh which will end in a sacking before I can hope again for something better…..but it’s utterly sickening

Think you're taking it a little too much to the heart mate haha. It's football.

Another thing, I don’t think he would’ve joined it he hadn’t been given assurances that he could bring in some players this window.
I hope you're right, a change in leadership alone isn't enough to change our trajectory on the pitch

I definitely agree on your dyche comments , I don’t understand why a manager wouldn’t try to build a relationship with the fans but Dyche seemingly made no attempt . After the Bournemouth game with that ‘speech ‘ I thought he was going to but nope that was it .

I actually think or thought we needed a manager to really build the connection between fans and the side as there was huge disconnect. Moyes isn’t quite the right man for that but I think he’ll give us enough BS to suffice .

I get the feeling that there's some on here that think a different manager than Moyes (who i don't know) would have had us on the verge of Europe this season. He's not my favourite choice as manager but if you're in TFGs shoes you need to get someone in that can get us to safety and though i hate to admit it out of all the names bandied about he probably gives us the best chance of doing that. Personally I'll be surprised if he's still the manager in 2027 but if he is I'm pretty sure we'll still be in the prem and hopefully stabilised as a club that can then make a progressive manager change. The stagnation of the last two and a bit decades will not be cleared in six months it will take time.
This is exactly my thoughts. The club is a mess after the dumb and dumber show of the last 9 years and more. Moyes in all honesty is the safest bet on paper. He might fail but you are guaranteed one thing and that is he will work night and day. When Fenway took over the RS they had Hodgson who was as popular as Dyche. They turned the clock back to Dalglish as they knew they needed time and someone they could trust to steady the ship. He gave them that time they needed to start to put the structures in place that has them where they are today. As a fanbase now and we keep saying this but we really need to unite behind the team.
