I really don't get the lack of ambition shouts. Did people expect us to transform from a relegation side with no players to a champions league level just because we moved stadium?
Another poster mentioned earlier you had the likes of NUFC appoint Howe when they were in a similar position, Villa went for Emery, Palace went for Glasner. Going for Moyes just feels like a step back in time. Since he's left us he's had 2-3 good years at West Ham, whose fans couldn't wait to be shot of him. But yes the main aim is staying up and if he achieves that then fair enough.

I'd imagine today's 'talks' are him decked in the finest Castore clobber and ticking all the club media/PR boxes.
And being interviewed by Snivelly, with his halting, hesitating leading "questions" and caring references to your brother-in-law and mine, "Dom".

He took Sunderland down in 2017 with

Pickford
Bryan Oviedo
Joleon Lescott
Jack Rodwell
Steven Pienaar
Darron Gibson
Victor Anichebe

Utterly irrelevant today but 5 of those were recruited that summer and 3 from Manchester United.

Hopefully if there are transfers this window he/the club cast their net a little bit wider than simply former players. who had largely been out out to pasture.

The usual suspects will be against Moyes from day one. Its already started. People wittering on about his record against top six clubs as though we've had an unbelievably good one since he left ffs!๐Ÿ™„

The more I think about Moyes coming back the more I think we should have just rolled the dice with Dyche until his contract was up. When are we going to escape this BS around this club

None of the others had 11 seasons worth of attempts to be fair .
Think itโ€™s hysterically funny that someone could be so anti Dyche and yet approve of Dour Davey .
Genuinely amused by that .๐Ÿคฃ

Yeah it didnโ€™t take Moyes 11 seasons to win there either.

Why? They are absolutely nothing alike, not in the same league. Dyche operates in the Mark Hughes and Tony Pulis bin of managers.

Smart appointment to finally get some stability into the club for the first time since he left.

Mid table/top half for a couple of years while we move into the new stadium and the FFP/PSR situation improve then turn to a long term to challenge for European places consistently.

Two quick home defeats to Villa and Spurs will have more people coming around to that thinking.

Moyes will get no honeymoon. He really does have to hit the ground running. What would really help him would be a couple of impressive, forward-looking, signings to dilute the bitter taste of the apparent return of "good times."

Those creatures don't even deserve an opinion. chased Moyes out, went to crud and had to get him back in. then, chased him out again and have now plumped for Potter last chance saloon type stuff. Play russian roulette long enough, you'll find the loaded chamber eventually.
