People moaning about Moyes having an inferiority complex away to the big 4 when we’ve just come off the back of a fella that’s instilled an inferiority complex against Bournemouth and Southampton

It's ok Mike he's gone now the nightmare is over

Have you forgotten under Moyes we went to Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Emirates/Highbury and Old Trafford approx 40-50 times and didn't win a single one of those matches? And in most of those tried to play for a 0-0 unless we could nick a set-piece goal?

That’s not correct at all. It was never anything like Dycheball, we used to actually have chances. We bottled plenty of times but it’s not the same thing at all. You are misremembering because you don’t want Moyes now and/or used to defend Dyche.

They are not remotely comparable. It’s an insult to Moyes to lump him into the same category as that bottom feeder.

I thought his West Ham side weren't bad to watch that year and it felt like the front 3 or 4 had lots of nice rotation going on.

Whether we've got the personnel to do that is another matter. They had Rice martialling the space behind the midfield for a start
We'll go 4-2-3-1 still but with a more tucked in central mid pairing to compensate for the quality and will probably either go wide to cross/through ball to DCL/Beto or an overlap or cross from deeper by the full back. This might be a water carrying position in which Doucoure isn't hot turd too by the way, to just get the ball and lay it off to literally anyone else

The AM is interesting in a setup like this as we don't have a finisher there currently - we had Cahill, Fellaini, etc., WHam had Soucek and Bowen joining, but they've all got a quality from midfield that's outstanding, be it finding space or heading/finishing. We'll see.

And by the way that's fine, hope it works.

this was during a prem era period when man utd, chelsea and arsenal were constantly finishing in the top 4 and were the best sides in the league

arsenal finished 8th in 20/21
chelsea finished 12th two seasons ago
man utd are currently 13th

and we still can't beat arsenal, chelsea or man utd away now in their worst era in the prem

Dycheball is hunkering down in a low block, booting it away and hoping your keeper pulls off worldie saves to get you a 0-0. No intent to score a goal at any point unless you concede one. I won’t allow anyone to gaslight me into thinking that is the same as Moyes’ cautious approach to away games.
Nah there's Moyes' annoying (over)caution but Dycheball is actual football terrorism.

Moyes did a very good job at West Ham so I am positive he can do a good job here. I don’t see the issue of giving him longer than 6 months. He built a decent team with limited money at West Ham so I don’t buy the argument that he can’t build a team.

I could be wrong but I also think the perception of fans would have been more positive if he was replacing Lampard and not Dyche. When changing managers, fans often want the polar opposite of what came before and so I think people see some similarities with Dyche.

I also think it’s incredibly naive to think that with the new move to BMD, we will appoint a new young progressive manager, overhaul the playing squad and finish in the top half playing a sexy brand of football. Yet, I’ve spoken to most fans who will be disappointed if that does not happen. It will take time to build a new team and in my opinion, David Moyes is far better placed to do that than some flavor of the month who promises sexy football.

What Dyche served up can’t even be considered football. Football by definition is a sport where you try to score goals and try to stop your opponents scoring goals. We only did one of those things, so we just played anti-football. Just tried to stop our opponents playing football and that’s it.
