If they’ve gone for Potter and not got him, they’ve created an unnecessary vacuum and made Dyche position untenable in my opinion. If this comes to pass I’m going to be unimpressed.

They have to make a change now, Dyche was done once it was known publicly we went for Potter.

It’s how they manage this situation now, who else is on their list and how long this vacuum is going to be in place - because actions today, mean Dyche has no authority - because if tat results are going to tank in the PL.
"If" is doing all the lifting in this argument.

dyche has already made his position untenable by being tactically limited and incapable of winning games

Think they haven’t gone for him mate?
I don't see any evidence at all that they have.

Honestly, I expect the first we'll know of the new manager is when he's waving a scarf next to that big Everton crest that Gana Gueye made famous a few years back.

If their Roma history is anything to go by, people there were stunned when Mourinho was announced. And the Italians have about 10 newspapers dedicated purely to football.

That's how I see it.

Are they an admirer of him? Possibly

Have they gone all out for him? I haven't seen or read any evidence from anyone credible suggesting we have

That’s not really true though mate, there is a collection of fans that have turned against him, sure. Internally now from a corporate governance point of view TFG have legged his authority internally now today. It’s not great internal management - unless a decisive and optimal appointment is made and quickly. Does this help us if we need to keep him for the next 3 PL, no. All this has helped us today. *Presuming Potter decided on WHU as is being reported to that he is close to doing.

All this "admirer" stuff is journo speak for "I'd better hedge my bets in case Dyche does get the bullet and the new owners "swoop" and make me look out of touch."

None of them have a clue what Spitfire Dan is going to do - or not do.

Except @davek - who has correctly predicted that Dyche would still be in a job on Tuesday night.

Respectfully I think even if an alternative appointment is not available currently he should still be sacked for a caretaker as I don't know what he truly offers the club in still being involved at this stage

Disagree to be honest, it’s being widely reported by multiple media outlets, it was an open question at the press conference today, Dyche himself all but confirmed today via “succession planning”.

As you know I’ve been his strongest advocate on here, but even I see the writing on the wall and events today make his position untenable.

Think we are in the unenviable decision of our first choice for all intensive purposes publicly turning us down, we’ve made the mangers position untenable and think we need to move fast in a replacement now, as you know that’s not been my position before.

Sincerely hope we haven’t painted ourselves into a corner, if we have we need to move on fast.
