The results. The performances. The approach to games. The negative season stats. And probably the biggest concern now is his comments and body language. He looks and sounds like someone who's got nothing left.

It's a bit worrying that not only are TFG dithering over Dyche's future but they some how see Potter as a suitable replacement. Potter is okay in his own right but he's not for us. It would be a hopeless and disastrous appointment at this time especially. In my opinion.

Essentially, the worry seems to be (and I completely get it) that we can't take on a forward thinking, pressing manager like Potter (or if preferred, a more exciting name like Jorge Potterinho...) with this group of players, whilst we're in this relegation predicament.

In essence then, we need a 'Dyche' like manager that isn't Dyche to see us to the Summer, safely. We don't want this 'Dychealike' to stay longer than that because we want to head in a more exciting direction...

So my questions for discussion are, who can we get in on a temporary basis that can work with players that are primarily programmed to defend, and in a short time make them attacking enough to win games without consequences at the back? or, is there a manager you'd like to come in that can do that short term, while on a long term contract, take us to the next level (or I'd take any level right now...)

This "crisis manager" thing -
1. Yes it is a crisis.
2. We need a change of manager immediately.
3. As to the profile/style of that manager - TFG should aim for a candidate that can be here over the medium to long term and help implement their vision.
4. Part 1 of that involves ensuring PL safety.
5. They may be unable to attract their first choice candidate now but it's too late to allow that to be an impediment, they have to act.

We got Allardyce in and everyone knew it was short-term. Likewise I'm sure Dyche knows he is not here next season.

We can get too caught up in the finer details. It's up to TFG to act now, and make the choice that they see as best suiting our needs at present.

Damned if they do (we get relegated by next manager not fitting the squad), damned if they don't (get relegated by Dyche not getting enough out of the squad).

For sure we need some players anyhow - they may as well come with the new manager.

Only thing stopping this is if your preferred manager isn't available.

Makes sense to me, dont throw the new manager in against Villa or Tottenham, but instead let him bed in against the likes of Leicester and Palace. Win 1 or 2 and the placebo effect kicks in and everyone starts to believe again.
