New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

…ha, ha when I posted that I wondered if you’d associate Everton Brow with the Orange Lodge. Bit of a stretch, Dave :hayee:

My family used to live near Everton Brow, in St Joseph's, the Friary and SFX Parishes. I'd say it was very much predominantly Catholic west of Shaw St, off the Brow itself. I also went to (catholic) school not far from the Provincial lodge on Everton Rd.... and even in the supposed heartland of that malarkey. It was a pretty mixed population even back then. Thankfully it's all been on the wane for decades and their membership is tiny now, and certainly not worthy of making that association.

….good post, Tom. I was born and raised very near that Orange Hall on Everton Rd, indeed it was literally a 100 yards from my house. My Dad went to SFX on Salisbury St but my Mum was CoE as were my sister and I.

None of it really mattered and thankfully its become even more diluted with time.

I think ‘The Brow’ is a very ‘Everton’ name for the South Stand, given its famous steepness, its very close proximity to Rupert Tower and Village St, which is where it all began for our great old club.

Everton Village was where a lot of the more upwardly mobile Irish migrated to.

From what I remember from demographic history: Jews around St Anne St; Irish the Village-Shaw St. area, the heights above probably a mixture of Welsh/English/N.Irish.

Pink smoke?

The Friedkins have made a decision and are living up to their promise to enhance the historical reputation of the club by signalling their intentions through salmon pink hues.

My owners.

Either that or the first stadium test event is Pride 2025.

Well, we've got to have pride in something, because we sure as hell don't have it in Everton.

From the renders shown on that it seems like there will be ceiling panelling in the concourses rather than piping and wiring left exposed

It's a bit like speccing a car, the brochure has pictures of it fitted with the luxurious interior pack, but after you've asked the dealer how much it is, you go "HOW MUCH?! I think we'll leave that option off".
