I can see whats in it for Trippier. Gets away from the wife that he's split with after doing the dirty on her numerous times, and a new deal that probably brings him up to retirement, when it looks like his legs are gone. Not so sure whats in it for DCL though. If he waits until the summer he gets a bigger wages and bonuses and can go wherever he wants.

It really doesn’t matter what country or division they are from, Kev literally just needs to need to tell the entire scouting network to serve up a carbon copy of Elanga and Hudson-Odoi. Job done.
MGW is a lovely footballer (though really annoying, always moaning). But if we did a swap with Forest for those 2 wide players and in return gave them Lindstrom, Harrison, Garner, Beto, Seamus, McNeil and half a dozen of our spare keepers they’d be at risk of getting relegated even with their current points.
Just the threat of their directness and pace (not even particularly tricky) completely changes how the opposition can play.
