I don't think we have any loan slots left do we?

Mangala from Lyon
Lindstrom from Napoli
Harrison from Leeds
Broja from Chelsea

So we've got 2 domestic loans and 2 international loans already on the books.

I think @Goat tried to work it out a while ago if we were allowed one more international/domestic loan but I don't think he got to the bottom of it.

I don't think their is a limit on Euro loans, like you say its pretty confusing, so im not 100% sure.

I could easily see us terminate 1 or even 2 of those loans....maybe even make Mangala a perm deal involving player swaps, same with Broja.

Those are the types I can see happening, rather than outright cash purchases.

Players we are being linked with and ones not doing well or out of the team at current clubs, hints at au targetinging loans or easier low price deals.

Makes absolute sense if you are convinced that Dyche keeps us up - which I'm not.

Also , I thought we had used our loan quota?

I can't stand what im watching, but I really do see us stay up. 35 points can keep you up these days, and we will get to 38 quite comfortably I thnk.

Its not pretty I know, but lots of 0-0 games keeps you up.

Also @Pabbers I don't think any free transfers would work. Dyche would want them to do a mid season pre season to get them match fit so I doubt anyone would be available for around 4-6 weeks. That's not me taking the piss btw, he really wouldn't throw anyone in. The only player who ever gets an instant recall is Mcneil.

Thats a great point, a point that stands with any singing we make really.

ANY player really needs to be wanted by Dyche, as he is not going anywere yet.

If I had my way....he would already be gone.

Yes it may need a bit of creative work to get things moving. I think the option on Mangala was 30-40m. He'd only be an option imo for around 15m. I think we had to pay a couple of million for the Lindstrom loan so can't see him going back and every time I see Harrison I just have a vision of everyone at Leeds pissing themselves that we were stupid enough to cover his wages.

Early doors for Broja, especially with his injury record. But we definitely need to do something, we need to freshen things up and get some mix needed pace/width in the side.

Sounds weird, but hear me out.

I dont want to see us spend money on players - Thats part of the issue we have now with this squad. Its a mix of players from 5/6 managers, terrible blend, doesn't mix at all....oil and water this squad.

I think we will see some loans, creativity on cheaper loans / frees - to get us to the end of the season with Dyche and the currentt football set up.

Spending on players now, with the plan of getting rid of all or some football people - is putting back into the same issues.
I do get what you're saying but we can't let the fact we spent money badly once put us off ever doing it again. There's nothing wrong with spending big money, or signing lots of players at once, or having players managed by someone other than the manager in place when they signed, or signing players from big clubs. We made a mess of doing those things, but there's nothing inherently wrong with doing them. I suppose the point is, it's less about what our plan for recruitment etc is and more about the need to execute it properly this time.

Both their clubs want decent money for them though, You might get a cheap deal for Mangala due to the Lyon situation but I'm not sure he is really good enough to be a permanent signing nor is Broja worth £30m which is what Chelsea want for him.

Agreed.

I don't feel Thelwell and Dyche are on the same page at all so it's no good if Thelwell goes and works on a signing, only for the signing to be sat on the bench.

We need 2 new starting players now, not 2 players who will take 2 months to get up and running or simply not good enough.

Maybe with Mangala we could us O'brien - Could they take him back ?? Loan / Purchase to balance anay Mangala fee.

Broja maybe a swap with DCL.

Philogene - replace Harrison loan - Harrison still walks inot that Leeds team, and everyone talks money. BUT I think Dyche loves him.

I know this all sounds like Footy manager, but I think this is the way we will see deals done for many clubs now, like in the summer.

Would just feel very old Everton to throw a load of money fixing us now, to go again in the summer.

Yep, it's going to need us to be creative with very little money to play with I reckon. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Harrison won't be going anywhere as Dyche absolutely loves him. Talks about him being the model pro, tactically brilliant at taking on information, 2 footed, just lacking in belief in the final moments blah blah blah.

BUT saying that, I was hopeful (stupid me) that we would try and get 2 in as soon as the window opened and not let games just drift on by. We have 1 match winner as things stand (Ndiaye), we going to need either someone else to step up (Broja?) or sign another one, otherwise we are right up crap street for the duration of the 2nd half of the season.

Yeah thats a good point mate, and I do agree.

Suppose it depends on our financial situation, and if we have room to actually spend money.

I know many any panicking, so we do need to add players.
