New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

United utilities tried to get the whole project stopped, they weren't going to give us any of the land they occupy.
I've seen this mentioned previously on here. Where is the evidence to verify this? The only way United Utilities, or anyone for that matter, can attempt to prevent any development is through the planning process. United Utilities are a statutory consultee for all development, there isn't a single objection from them published that I can find. I don't even know what basis they would have for objecting to the development 🤷‍♂️

Furthermore, why would they then lease LoR/ Everton land for the duration of the build if they were against the stadium in the first place. Makes zero sense.

Amazing to see how that land and dock has been transformed from dereliction to hosting one of the best stadiums in Europe in such a short period of time.

I still shake my head wondering how this basket case club has done it.
Amazing isnt it.

For the last 30 years we have messed everything up, but this.

50% chance it sinks into the Mersey within 3 years.

This one thing we’ve managed to get over the line is also the single best opportunity we could give ourselves to get us back challenging, too.

Hopefully we look back on this as the moment the rot stopped.

When I started posting on here in 2008 the majority on this forum wanted this...

...and they got really, really angry if you pointed out how terrible it was.
