His stupid diagonal long balls were winding me up as much as his inability to track a runner
Don't forget he was picked due to having, somehow, a phenomenal pre-season despite playing every game when we were getting smashed by teams in the lower echelons of their countries leagues! To the people who want him dropped, make no mistake, with this manager it will be Michael Keane replacing him. He thought he had a “strong” start to the season and was unlucky to be dropped.
Playing O'Brien over Tarkowski would be madness. If only we’d brought in a tall, athletic, young centre back in the summer.
Played exactly like a Sunday league cb after a massive all night ale session on a Saturday. He looked like he had just had 12 pints in the changies.
Unfortunately, at least him and Young both have appearance based contracts that ensure they are playing a % of game.Played exactly like a Sunday league cb after a massive all night ale session on a Saturday.
Another who won’t be dropped no matter how badly he plays under this fraud manager.

He might not make it with us. But imo 23 starts at different times across 3 years indicates he has hardly had a solid run of games for him to develop and claim a place.
He is young, he will make mistakes during games. Like the senior pros make mistakes when they play but are allowed to for some reason.
But we have also made mistakes with a fair few youngsters in recent years (Robinson and Lookman being just two, but also Kean and maybe even Cannon). Maybe allowing them to make mistakes and develop could be better for us.
Actually, and we'll never know, but I think Tarkowski is one of the few players who Dunc would have avoided. I haven't seen any player square up to Tarkowski yet. I think they know he is tough. He's not an animal just hard. The exact sort of defender you'd want to see get chinned by Duncan Ferguson.
His wages get funnier by the week.
