As of yet I’ve seen nothing to suggest that Broja is better than DCL unfortunately.Fixed

Some of the hype for a couple of 10-15 min cameos was way over the top. Today was the Broja we all saw at Fulham. As of yet I’ve seen nothing to suggest that Broja is better than DCL unfortunately.
He looks like he should be a bigger presence. I dunno. Hopefully he’ll get on a scoring streakSome of the hype for a couple of 10-15 min cameos was way over the top. Today was the Broja we all saw at Fulham.
Yeah, what we saw today was exactly what i expected, and why i feel so confused as to why the club was so intent on signing him over multiple seasons. I very much doubt his loan will affect our fortunes mentionably at all, but i hope im wrong. Some of the hype for a couple of 10-15 min cameos was way over the top. He ain’t a target man striker.
I've said the exact same thing in the Dom thread. Whilst they may have different attributes and whatnot, so can't be directly compared, strikers will get a raw deal.I’m amazed that a striker playing for a dinosaur that hates anyone who plays further forward than the half way line isn’t shining.
Baffling really.
I think we have a huge issue in service as well though.I've said the exact same thing in the Dom thread. Whilst they may have different attributes and whatnot, so can't be directly compared, strikers will get a raw deal.
Broja ended up having to deal with the same dreadful service (hoof ball), which meant he eventually had to stray wide or deep to even look like getting a touch.
The tactics are the largest problem here, not the players.
Oh we do, and importantly I ain't saying this is a squad of world beaters simply lacking in class, yet if you watch the play the tactics limit us significantly.I think we have a huge issue in service as well though.
Who do we have who you’d trust to actually deliver a good ball? Or even a hockey assist like Pienaar used to regularly do for Baines. I think McNeil strikes a good footy, Jim Garner too to an extent. Lindstrom maybe at times.
Other than that I think N’Diaye can nit stuff together superbly but his technique is lacking at times (look at his shot yesterday after lovely feet on the edge of the box).
We’ve got a huge quality gulf to actually provide service to the forward players. Just getting the ball to our attackers is an issue, nobody passes a ball well in the middle really (bar possibly Mangala/Garner when fit).
I’d like to see Iroegbhunam come back in when fit in this flat three we’ve been trying. At least he’s progressive.
Oh it’s atrocious to watch absolutely.Oh we do, and importantly I ain't saying this is a squad of world beaters simply lacking in class, yet if you watch the play the tactics limit us significantly.
We do not attempt overlaps, and our wider players often intentionally come inside and wait for reinforcements - the regularity of it shows it's something asked of them.
Our primary tactic is hitting these long, high balls up the pitch and hoping that our forward can win the header, hold the ball and then do something with it.
It's horrible to watch.
Remember when we played hoofball with Maupay as a lone striker?Just the same as Beto isn`t a target man striker and yet we persist with the hoofball and then wonder why we never score.
It was hardly surprising that he kept dropping deep to get the ball yesterday, as it was the only way he was going to get the ball.
