2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I'm not sure what posters expect from a team that has 1 effective starter (Ndiaye) out of 3 attacking players behind the forward.

Im very happy to setup the way we did vs Wolves and also to setup the way we have the past 3 games.

If we added talent to replace Doucoure and Harrison -- that have end product we'd be a feared team.

Sides can barely score against us yet we can create great chances.

I predicted wed get 4pts from Chelsea and City and we should have done if we Harrison had finished in both games.

Many posters see that, but at the same time are wanting us to sign a central midfielder who had 0 successful tackles, 0 successful headers and 2/6 successful duels.

Were Everton football club whose best central midfielders can put in and win tackles.

Many posters hate Dyche and want a front foot approach with midfielders that cant defend.

I would happily watch the football weve seen the past 4 games once we sign superior players.

Style of play means nothing if were winning games.
Who keeps picking him and letting him play all those minutes to miss chance after chance? Particularly today, he was absolutely dreadful and got a full 90...And don't go for "there are no alternatives." Yes there are. It just requires a bit of creative thinking and dare I say, proactive management. We've done well to get 3 draws, but does it do any more than balance out the loss to a Saints team that has still only won that one game?

Agree, if we're winning, the style doesn't matter. Problem is, Dyche isn't winning. He's grinding out draws in the only way he knows how. See out the season if we must, but he has no business moving forward with new owners.

This is how much of a joke club we've turned into. The media consider us absolute nobodies.

The Guardian:

Ability to avoid defeat is now described almost using superlatives.

Let's get a manager in that tries to win football matches. 2 of these 3 games were there for the taking and should have been (given the chances we missed) won. Instead, 3 points not 7.
@Daytripper I bet this is one!

Playing his Jack the lad is a sackable offence
Christ alive, everyone was calling for him after Lindstrom was starting games and stinking the place out. We've two options on that side, it's either him or Lindstrom and both aren't good enough

Forest are essentially a very good version of us (due largely to personnel). Whereas they have Elanga, Gibbs-White, Jota, Hudson-Edoi and Wood to hurt teams we only really have N’Diaye.

They play deep, hit teams quick on the counter and rarely concede (24 goals scored, 19 conceded - they are 3rd). I do largely think our problem is personnel, Dyche is by no means a ‘good’ manager but he’s far from the worst in the league.

Hopefully we manage to continue this uptick through January, a couple of new wide players and a full back with pace and we part ways with him and thank him for a pretty thankless job well done.

Would just like this comment but it is spot on

Three very good unexpected draws. Now the acid test. Forest at Goodison. Can he turn draws into wins?

I don’t think he has a future here - but if he beats Forest he will be making something of a case for consideration…

Well, we don't have the pace to counter successfully. As for an identity, we're almost like a poor man's Simeone type side who sit deep, work hard, and absorb pressure before being direct. The issue has also been capitalising on what we do after we go direct and get the ball in good areas.

You'll see in the vast majority of games we eventually get into good areas but the players make the wrong decisions. I point out today because it was a perfect example of it.
Simeone teams have the defending and toughness side and also a side of actually playing football and scoring goals. Dyche being compared to him is disrespectful.

They make poor decisions because they are not coached and there is not a system. It's very hard to make it up as you go along at the highest level.
