To be fair, what a job this man has done the last two years. We were screwed from all angles, but he got a tune out of a team with 8 points deducted. He deserves eternal credit for this. He's clearly not going to be the answer going forward, but we must acknowledge the job he did last year - tremendous.
I don’t think he does deserve any credit, we went on 2 runs with him where we didn’t win in 13, we where very lucky Leicester imploded and last year you only needed 26 points to stay up. Ppl are really overrating the job he done

Amazing how many people he hoodwinked in to thinking he done an amazing job here. He hasn’t he a 23% win ratio manager who loses 49% of his games, this is a fact over his PL career.
He managed more games then his teams have scored goals… how that possible??? He managed over 300 games.
He’s a 1.1 point per game manager. 38-42 points a season manager and he proved that here and slightly done on this this season

Hes a very very average manager who done a bad job, yes where a PL team still but that despite him not because of him

That run were we didn’t win in 13/14 was ended by an absolute freak goal against Burnley in a game were they were the much better team. He had no clue how to stop the rot

At the same time Luton came back from 1 nil down to win 2-1 in the last 5 minutes. The boost that would have given them if we’d have lost / drew with Burnley.

Shudder to think what would have happened without DCL dangling that leg out.

Usually I’d say give him Chelsea and City and let the new manager get the easier games. However City is a winnable game now.

Give him his P45 in his stocking.
I think we can all agree if we have a world class manager coming in that’s fine. But it’s unlikely we will attract that with the squad we have.

it’s amazing how people have no perspective of what a difficult job this is.

Chimp brain analysis. I want us to be better so it should be better, despite the fact that successive managers have fought relegation, we haven’t invested in the squad for over 5 years.

Ask yourself how many players we could actually sell for good money. I’ll make it easy, start with our backline and work forward the squad…, put Pickford in, and you can stop when we get the branthwaite.

PSR rules will stop us closing the game anytime soon.

How have Brighton challenged for Europe 3 or the last 4 years, on a 40mil debt on spending over the last 5years. Bournemouth look like they are kicking on, Villa have spent money but nowhere near what city, Utd , Chelsea and Arsenal have.

Good recruitment and a good manager and you can get around the European places quite quickly. We could be 150mil better off next season, with the new sponsorship deals, naming rights, the extra revenue from
The ground, the interest payments dropped and probably quite a bit saved on wages.

I think thats fair on last season. Season he came in he had long enough to sort it by the time we stayed up with 45 minutes left. We got lucky.
So good and bad.
I think he's been awful this season. Im not buying into the 0-0 at Arsenal. Its just basically 10 Burnley behind the ball, zero shots on goal and hope your keeper pulls of enough saves. 9 times out of 10 we'll concede at least 1.
He still scares the sh!t out of me that eventually he'll take you down. You cant keep surviving on less goals per game ratio. It will catch you out in the end. To have scored in 1 game out of the last 6. Dire stuff.
Just another season you're hoping we kick punch scratch enough points to stay up.
Then try and move on. Dyche is dead end stuff.
Pretty much, a bit like that I acknowledge what he did in 2023. To take over a mentally broken team that lost almost all games against bottom half teams, including a West Ham or Southampton in the last 2 games before Dyche took over. It was a heavy challenge for a manager, and yes I know the 1:0 wins kept us up and a good keeper in the Leicester game.

To play a good first half of 23/24 with 26p in 19 games with progress on the pitch as well comparing to February when he took over.

The relegation battle in 22/23 and 23/24 for me it's not comparable at all. You had Wolves, West Ham and Bmouth getting 27, 25, 23 points while having a similary bad first half as us, in 22/23, we got 21. So that worsened our situation, something that's almost historically.

Lucky for us and even more Forest that the points deduction happend in the season of the worst bottom 3 points output in the history, something you will have very rarely, you would have stayed up with 26 points and -32 goal difference.

But I also see our development from December 2023 to December 2024, and for me he has not enough in two things, points tally and development of the team.
We haven't really lost key players of last season, could bring in some players to make the squad indiviually better, it's where I expect more of a manager. I know teams, like Fulham, Bournemouth or Forest invested more in the last 3-4 years, but also when I see those teams have progressed much on the pitch, you see a hallmark in these teams of a manager to get a good return of points that makes the squad benefit to get a lot out of their possibilites. Not at Everton, I think we play worse than 1y ago, especially against teams within our reach, something we did pretty well last season and got half of our points from.
