2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

That was not of his own making in any way either.
Yep.

Also, although it was 'just' 8 points we also have to remember that it was in total many more points than that at one stage without knowing if two appeals would be successful...AND all the stress that must have caused as it was hanging over the heads of coaching staff and players.

It was a remarkable achievement to get 48 points last season.

Of course a lot of people forget that now because they want the new shiny Euro-league manager in.

Staggering to me that this manager who's singlehandedly been left to get on with running Everton at a perilous period in our history and kept us up even when the PL were determined to finish us off is not mentioned by either Friedkin or the new chairman Watts.

That's completely out of order.

They only praised Chong.

Moshiri at least had the good grace to acknowledge Dyche.
We were a penalty away from getting relegated

If Maddison scores that pen Leicester stay up and we go down

Pickford kept us up

What a world we live in: people on here calling for a business group, who have it all to prove, to get shut of a manager that's kept us safe for two years.

If they get shut of Dyche before the summer they are confirming my worst fears about this takeover: that just like with Roma they dont know their arse from their elbow on how to conduct themselves.

I'd like to see the fracking chairman give his support for our manager. Classless if he doesn't.
/Dyche is going nowhere before the summer.
They are not going to spunk money on paying off Dyche and his staff and employing new staff, when they can do it all for free at the end of the season.

You can acknowledge that feat without having to be forever beholden to him as a manager. Managers can have strong seasons then eventually become unable to obtain the needed results it's the nature of football, he's been atrocious this season and should face accountability for that record
Also even with what was accomplished last season he went 4 months without a win which was very disconcerting and now looks like a sign that he was going to struggle this season

H Chelsea
A City
H Forest
A Bournemouth (Jan 4th)
H Villa (Jan 15th)

Were on P15 15pts

I think Dyche will be monitored with the 'hope' of the Friedkins that he can deliver positive results up to and including the Bourmemouth game.

My guess would be 6pts+ (P19 21pts+) and he'll be in the hotseat for Villa.

My reasoning is the cup game with Peterborough giving us 11 days between the Bournemouth / Villa games. Thats a decent amount of time to pull the trigger on a new manager.

As much as we would love a top manager to come in asap, I think if Dyche can get us to P19 21pts after those fixtures he'll have done well.

If things look poor along the way he'll be sacked any moment.

Possibly but look at roma they sacked two managers already I don't think they'll have any reservations if that's their intent regardless of financial concerns

I’m assuming you think we beat Bournemouth. Which of the others are you putting as a win?

Or are you thinking we draw 3 and only lose one of the next 5?

Funnily, as I joke about which teams are top 7 standard a lot. All 5 of them are actual current top 7. So we shouldn’t be expecting any points.

3 points maximum from those fixtures and those would all be backs to the wall draws with about 25% possession in each game.

I'm assuming nothing. Just thinking what I would do if i were TFG and didnt want to make an instant appointment.

They'll have been briefed on him and will know he's a 'relegation specialist'. At the same time they'll expect us to be well away from the bottom 3 quickly as Dyche will need to 'prove himself' to them.

Realistically we could lose all 4 games. However, we may see a feel good factor against Chelsea & Forest being home games.

We also may catch out City. Bournemouth depending on how things are looking may be a game Dyche needs to win.

Its impossible really to predict, I'd rather we saw Dyche as manager going into Villa with a decent number of pts secured than him losing the games and we bring in a new chap.

Could be 0-3pts in which case id expect he'd be fired.

Thing with Dyche though, he's a bit like a limpit mine. Just when you'd expect him to be sacked he clings on with an unexpected result.

I'd expect he'll get just enough pts to remain in the job. Think he'll be under enormous pressure and he seems to do well under those circumstances.

Last season his purple patches saved him. But by this point last season he was in a purple patch and had 3 wins on the bounce. If ones coming, it would be good to be soon.
