You're bending over backwards to not give him any credit for last season.
Quick question, from my original post, what don’t you agree with?

He is just really crap isn’t he.

Makes no effort with the fans. Plays generally dire football. It’s become very partisan with fans completely at each other. And we are in real trouble this season.

Yes, he got a decent points total last year with some challenging circumstances, well done him, but most of the year was dog awful with everyone genuinely concerned about relegation until he finally won a few games at the end of the season.
Does he make effort with the fans or does he keep making comments about them?
Is the football not generally dire?
Are we not currently in any trouble?
Was most of the football not god awful last season?
Were fans not worried about relegation until the last few games?

How can you argue this… it’s all come round to a similar thought process. There has been a dust up for the ages but now the dust has settled we are at one.

@Lob and @matty1878 are now fully paid up dychettes. Nsno-Chris has taken leave for a while because he only comes out when we are in doing badly.

The Dychette party is happy to concede that dyche can be moved on if suitable investment and top draw manager in place. Or if we start to cut a drift in the relegation zone.

Dyche gets to leave in January or the end of the season with his head held high, and be hailed as man of an era, that kept us in place against all odds for the new dawn* to come.

* New dawn comes… looks a lot like the day before. And new battle lines are drawn.

Only because we decided to win a few games at the end of the season when we won 4 of the last 6. As I said.

Yeah, this is nonsense mate. Give us our stolen points back and we'd have finished 22 points clear of Luton. So, in summary, without the stolen points, we could have lost all of those 4 games we won at the end of the season and we'd still have been 10 points clear of the drop zone.

How quickly we forget how those corrupt barstewards at the PL screwed us over eh?

Not forgetting anything pal. Would you have been happy if Dyche had only come out with 36 points last season (pre deduction) and 28 points (post deduction) without those wins (if he hadn’t halted the slide which thankfully he did).

Yes I know it’s hypothetical. As we did win the points. But as my original point was how in general most of the football is dire and we were still worrying about relegation with a handful of games left.

I'd have been happy we stayed up, though I'd have viewed the final points total as an underachievement. A season is over 38 games though mate and we won 48 points; don't really care what games they came in. You're scraping the barrel a bit here.

Just going to revert back to my original post. Which not sure anyone would really disagree with.

It doesnt matter if he makes an effort with the fans, and no, he doesnt keep making comments about them. People just ran with some comments that were misinterpreted

This season it has been. I'm not going to defend this season, we've been terrible.

We are, but I'd be confident in us staying up quite comfortably.

No, it wasn't. We were good up until Christmas, then hit a bad run of form, but went back to being very good. It wasn't god awful for the most part.

Yes, relegation was a worry, but that's because of the points deduction, not because of the manager.

Dyche doesn't seem to believe attacking the goal is a crucial aspect of the game he seems to view it more peripherally , if it happens it's a bonus but those clean sheet draws are probably euphoric for him
In my opinion, that's what was needed when he took over. We couldn't score and couldn't keep it out of our net, now we can't score but at least we have a solid foundation and structure to revert back to where we can keep games tight and not leak goals.

I expect all this to change under Friedkin, thankfully.

I agree initially in forming stability after rocky form with another manager but at this point it just feels like overwhelmed so he goes with the one thing he knows. Arsenal draw solid achievement , the draw against brentford for example was woeful. I hope so as well

In terms of last season, the squad had a perfect excuse to say “not our fault” if we went down, whilst spending all season lining up a move for this season.

The fact that Dyche got them to win as many points on the pitch as media darlings Brighton was an astounding achievement. Truly impressive. But it was a great achievement as a man manager and motivator. He’s still a crap football manager.
