But having loads that don't attack is helpful?

It’s not either or though. It’s the balance of what they offer. Gray wasn’t offering much in either direction and therefore was sold because the price was right. McNeil and Ndiaye do offer something going forward (not great admittedly) but they work hard on defence.

Again if we had quicker CMs we might not need the wingers to be defending as much, like when McCarthy used to cover for Mirallas and Coleman when they bombed on under Martinez. Our CMs move at walking pace though so that option is out.

Don’t know if you’ve noticed pal but we’re in a massive PS&R hole and some team offered us 10 mill for a player that was valued at about 500k on our books.

Plus he didn’t work backwards which I know is an irrelevance to you as you don’t believe in two way football but in the real world having a winger who doesn’t defend isn’t very helpful.

Very glad we sold him and sorted our PSR problems out then.

The problem with this is if they decide to stick with Dyche until his contract expires then the players we get in Jan shouldnt be anyone Dyche wants or would use because the next manager might not have them in their plans.

They should be bought with the next manager in mind, therefore lets say we get a pacy winger or 2 Dyche wont play them if they dont defend first.

We should get rid ASAP and the new manager has half a season to assess the squad of what he needs for the summer, with a little help in January.

Nobody we've paid money for was Sean Dyche.

Do we think Sean Dyche is there saying "yeah lash money at Sportings 4th choice academy lad?"

It's why we have a Director of Football.

So it's unhelpful. I agree.

I’m sorry to have to break this to you, but we got a points deduction for the financial year in which we sold Gray.

I’m sure actually trying to be seen to comply with the regulations was a bit of a better defence in the mitigating circumstances than just making it even worse by keeping our players and being even further over the threshold.

You really will swing at anything wont you to have a pop at the manager. I wonder if he was on the Ukrainian border a few years ago or whether he’s also been in the Middle East recently, I heard he should have done something about Storm Daragh as well.

Same way as you’ll make any excuse up in order to defend him I suppose. “We’ve got no pace” well he sold our pace. “Yeah but he didn’t defend” Yawn.

Dyche will be gone soon and I for one will have a celebratory drink.

He personally signed all the bad ones don’t you know? Been told by someone inside the club. They’re unsure yet whether Lindstrøm is one of his but waiting to see if he turns out rubbish to confirm it was a Dyche signing.

‘We’ve got got no pace’ isn’t an excuse, it’s a fact.

You want to blame Dyche for all the recruitment that went before him leaving us in this position? Want to also blame him for the PS&R position meaning we had to sell Iwobi and Gray?

When he goes you can thank him for keeping us up in 23 ‘beyond a miracle’ - your words not mine.

I’ll thank Nick Pope for that. A miracle indeed.
