Not quite. The sponsorship for the stadium will be dictated by more than Everton’s position in the league, which of course will be a contribution.

But, it’s a state of the art stadium, in a world famous city, on an iconic location. It’s also set to host European championship games. Them factor alone increase its sponsorship value.

Even if it went to a PL fair market test, they wouldn’t just look a teams in a similar position.

True, and this was a concern for me. But I really admire the way he’s taken that team and rethought and reinvented it without a massive recruitment overhaul, and now it’s one of the most exciting teams in the league and one that hasn’t had to give a moment’s thought to the relegation battle at all. I’d love a manager who could achieve that sort of reinvention here.

My mates a Newcastle fan and doesn't rate him highly and he didn't exactly have a great window for United either.
Thelwell has identified decent targets in the past, Diaz, Kudus, Minteh to name a few, he's just never had the funds to get them over the line. I'd rather see what he can do when he's not got both hands tied behind his back than have Ashworth..
