Amazing really, isn't it? In what other line of work can you get fired everywhere you go and people are still (reasonably) keen to hire you...

I mean, he's won a trophy at every club he's been at (in the last 20 years) bar Spurs, and they sacked him on the 'eve' of a final.

But yeah, why would you be "reasonably keen" to hire him eh?

Evertonians turning their noses up at Mourinho is like a tramp turning his nose up at a 2 star Michelin restaurant tasting menu.

He's done nothing for over a decade. Outdated approach. He's basically like Benitez now. Add that to the fact that he'd stay 18 months and leave us in a worse position than when he arrived, having fallen out with everyone from Friedkins to the tea lady and aired all of our issues in public and we'd have bigger PSR issues than we'd ever had before.

That's before you get onto the issue of his football being absolutely turgid.

Can't think of many people I'd want to avoid more.

Can't stand the mood hoovers that have an attachment to failure and mediocrity, and are insistent that a TFG takeover will only have a negligible impact before they have even walked in the door.

'PSR', 'They will keep hold of Dyche', 'Evolution not revolution', 'Sponsorship won't make much difference', 'We need a five year plan just to reach the top half' etc etc.

Look at their investment in Roma, it has been substantial and it is in complete contrast to our series of negative net spend transfer windows over the last few years. They aren't spending hundreds of millions of pounds to acquire Everton just to risk it all on Sean Dyche and maintaining the financial strategies of Bill Kenwright and a sanctioned oligarch.
As others have said, I think there's a halfway house here - we've been crippled by a lack of cashflow and I think that will be addressed quite quickly. We won't need to be shopping around for deals which involve paying zero up front, for example. We might be able to go back to full time coaching in the youth setup etc.

The flip side is that no matter who buys us, the PSR stuff doesn't go away. We continue to tread that line carefully and it wouldn't matter if Jeff Bezos bought us, we will need to grow our revenues significantly to be able to go out and buy without worrying too much about big sales.

I'm optimistic that revenues, commercial approach, etc will all be significantly better, but it isn't like winning the lottery - we are living in the reality of rules which restrict us and that will be frustrating for a while I'd expect.

Mourinho is an interesting one, having been sacked by the Friedkins, would he even be an option?
Then you have his personality which inevitably results in him getting the push sooner or later.
He would not bring the sort of stability I think Everton need.
However, if he was available and if he was interested, and if TFG wanted a short term boost, and had a plan for the financial implications that brings, he would, I suspect, be the short of shock to the system the club might need and indeed benefit from.

he's won 2 Premier-leagues, a league cup and a European trophy within the last 10 years i believe.
Don't get me wrong, i don't think he's a viable option either. At best he'd be a short term fix that would bring attention to the club, show ambition (i suppose) and possibly end our trophy drought, but he's more than likely going to be a very VERY expensive mistake. But the man is up there with some of the best managers of all time. People were saying the same about Carlo when he came here. Give Jose the right club, the right players and he'd win things again. Which is probably why he's the wrong man for us right now.
