I think anyone that continued in their role under the ‘stewardship’ of Big Bill and Floppy Farhad, deserve all the criticism they get (including Thelwell) by the way, if they could not fulfill the role of their office, they should have resigned. There’s enough money in the game….Brands would have walked back into a job in Holland no problem.

The issue with dof debate is that we've never had a dof operate unfettered so it muddies how affective the dof role has been. If the friedkins don't meddle and let the dof layout a fundamental vision for the club's style along with having a manager that meshes with that approach and is malleable to the dofs recruitment that would give a better notion on that roles' effectiveness

Agreed but it still comes down to an issue of competency.
