According to iNews, behind-the-scenes work has intensified in the last week in preparation for the arrival of the Friedkin Group at Everton.

Next week is viewed as “optimistic” for confirmation of the takeover, with the final regulatory hurdles being cleared in time for Dan Friedkin to be in office at the start of the week before Christmas.

The report states this feels hugely significant given how close we have come to this point before.

Hope so mate. The end of Moshiri's era will give everyone a much needed lift. Just knowing that we are at the start of something new and different will give me some optimism back for the future.

I hope so but there's a part somewhere that's making me think all of those loans and dodgy parties we'd until now been involved with might make it a longer, drawn-out affair. Would be typical Everton to miss out on a transfer window when we need it most.

If I were the Freakin’ Group, I’d string it out until the end of Jan so I don’t have to put my hand in my pocket for transfers during the transfer window, and hope we gather enough points based on the playing staff we’ve got.

Then for the Summer window, I’d tell fans to ‘watch this space’ and lie about what players we were in for, and that all these exciting transfers fell through due to circumstances outside our control.
