2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Im still in the Dyche camp because if we had superior players in certain areas today and over this season we'd likely be top 10.

The central midfield with Doucoure, Gana and Mangala in the mix looks really dreadful...as does our right hand side.

DCL and others are getting a decent amount of chances each game so the tactics seem to be working.

January will be an interesting window -- if hes still here and Thelwell is given decent funds to strengthen, we may see a bit more of what Dyche can deliver.

However, even today...why not throw on Dixon & Armstrong for the last 5-10mins?

….oh dear.

Not sure he had much to put on the pitch from that bench to be honest. Only Mangala. Young was having one of his better games and given we had 3 RB's and two goalies on our bench that only really left Mangala and the two kids, Dont think Beto will get another game for us once Broja is fit..
Very poor selection from the bench, cant believe Lindstrom would not have been on for the dreadful Harrison in the second half if selected.
His move of McNeil to LMF to help Myko was a good call by him but putting Doucoure in McNeils 10 slot just meant the ball kept coming back into our defense. Again he had no choice as he did not have an attacking Midfielder on the bench.

I agree with DCL and Doucoure, and hope they'll be away with Dyche in summer.

You limit urself, if Harrison and Doucoure play instead of Tim and Lindström.

Dwight has a solid output since playing CAM.

Think DCL was very good again today in his all round play. Got to the byline a couple of times and got crosses in. Almost needs to be a support striker/a bit wider (Harrison’s role?)

….thats another problem with McNeil at 10, he’s rarely getting alongside and beyond DCL (like Doucoure can). It’s a good point you make about Harrison, you rarely see him in the box on the end of a cross from the left.

….DCL did a terrific job up to a point but he’s just not clinical with when given chances. Keane is terrific in front of goal but he’s he like a tugboat leading the line.

The bizarre thing is DCL scored his first 2 big chances this season and has missed 7 big chances in the prem since then.

….these posts really are a total nonsense. I support the manager but like most others, I’ve certainly not ‘been in the woodwork’. Perhaps its more a case today of his detractors being a little upset ;)

Watching Everton this season has been mainly dreadful and Dyche is certainly accountable for that, I was hoping/expecting us to step up a level under him this season but it’s not happened. Today he got it right, his judgement on Keane was spot on and most importantly, I believe the two old fellas Gueye and Doucoure looked better than any combination used so far.

Well said Eggs. And to be quite frank, I couldn't give a flying one if people think it's coming out of the woodwork. I've always been the same. No MOTD after a defeat, no Sunday paper, avoid the kopites in work more than usual...

The same still goes today. I don't come on GOT after a defeat, but nobody is gonna tell me how I should act after a win. COYB!

….and I think that’s him in a nutshell. He was a bit unlucky with one he struck well in the first half were the keeper made a good save.

He seems so geared to leading the line and working for the cause so much that when a chance comes along he’s not able to change that mindset.

I would have put on Armstrong over Mangala, who i think is dreadful. Better to develop our own with game time than use rubbish loan players.

Also id have thrown in Patterson & Dixon down the right hand side -- inject pace against their weak left side.

Id have been tempted to throw Obrien on at the end as well but both CBs were solid so i appreciate that may have been silly.

McNeil does well in the 10 role but as he doesnt ever get beyond DCL were reliant on both Ndiaye and Harrison to cut inside and do so...Harrison is way off that.

Not sure on Lindstrom yet, i think 2nd half of the season we'll be able to form opinions on him.

There is no logic why Doucoure is playing instead of Iroegbunam, aside from the recent injury.

Not wanting to throw in potential new manager names but if Potter was manager I think he'd be introducing a more youthful and attacking style...whether it would be effective Im not sure.

But we need to rebuild and a decision has to be made what direction that will take.

As I said, the way he controls the ball in the air and then sets himself is on a pretty good level, but the problem is his finishing isn't even half as good.

There are games like vs Newcastle or Brighton this season I feel for him, where he absolutely had no service and was isolated.

But there are also many games he lets us down. It's good for us, we have other players this season to compensate like Keane, McNeil or Ndiaye.

Tell you what Everton’s biggest enemy is: Evertonians. So many of you cheap attack dogs ready to pounce on downturns to demand a manager change because you’re so thick and entitled you wanna be that tall constantly wagging the dog. Hooked on new managers you wanna a choose yourself like cheap crack cocaine.

This forum needs to move on from these perma angry lizards, they’re the MAGA of Everton world. Dyche producing stability in these seasons of turmoil and no resources deserves recognition and patience.

Make Evertonians Sound Again.
Why are some Evertonians upset that Everton won? It’s crazy.
Everton won lads. Enjoy.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday evening lads, a bit quiet in this thread no?
Seems to be an absence from usual posters in this thread lads, where did they go?
Just enjoy the wins lads, no need to explain why you wanted to send Everton into meltdown by firing another Manager due to your misplaced entitlement and pissy panted hysteria. No one will hold that against you, we’re all bloos here.
Nice to see blues enjoying a welcome three points and an unbeaten run lads.
Everton! Spirit of the bloos.
#ThankYouGaffer
Good to see all blues having a great evening as Everton won guys.
Are Dyche haters the MAGA of Evertonians?

Personally I think that’s harsh but I’ve seen it being said. We’re all blues here.

Really putting in some "hard yards" here chico.
