It’s spooky season and I’m watching Hubie Halloween and it’s so crap I love it.
Yes, that’s fair. I have probably forgotten most of it because I wasn’t paying attention as soon as the nostalgia based nonsense cropped up and I’m in no rush to watch it againYeah, I laughed a lot in the final 20 minutes.
Not sure they ran out of ideas, they needed to cut a load of stuff out, and keep it simple.
As @Nymzee said, too much trying to cram in lore nonsense, where a stripped back ‘Prey’ type approach is what it needed.
I was surprisingly engaged for the first hour-ish
The Ian Holm Deep Fake / CGI was dreadful, and very distracting.
Yo clarky.Yes, that’s fair. I have probably forgotten most of it because I wasn’t paying attention as soon as the nostalgia based nonsense cropped up and I’m in no rush to watch it again![]()
Young Frankenstein,great film.
Tbf we should always do that, especially as 9 times out of 10 the remake can't hold a candle to the original, but also many times there will be many ppl who haven't seen/are unaware of/might not be interested in the og, so how good it is is largely irrelevant. If they like the modern version maybe/hopefully they will go back and see the og and like that even more. Same should apply really for non-linear sequels/prequels.rather than compare it to the original.

Watched it mate.
What a mad film and standouts from the two leads, Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner, who normally play lesser roles.
It’s got that B movie vibe, with A movie writing and acting.
It’s seriously messed up though and I think Tarantino may have some competition from this director.
The missus and i have really treated ourselves to spooky season flicks the past couple of weeks, here's a few
Oddity - two thumbs up. At points we knew what was coming and we still shrieked and practically jumped off the couch
Host - Some really good jump scares. Plot was ridiculous, but clocking in at just an hour, it was an easy watch. Entertaining.
Hell House Origins - we really liked the original Hell House LLC. I'd say this one was as good as that one - found footage, done well.
Late Night with the Devil. More a psychological thriller than true horror/jump scares. An interesting movie worth a watch - it's a different type of film
Lake Mungo. It felt like a real documentary and in this respect it was really well done. Directed by a guy that produced Late Night with the Devil - similar less horror/jump scare and more psychological. Another well done movie.
Tried watching the first VHS from 2012 and couldn't make it past the first 15 minutes. Way too "bro-ey". I've heard that some others in the franchise as pretty good, but this one was a little too much for me. Maybe i'll get back and watch that one myself
