2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I cannot believe people are asking this question.

I must be living in some alternate universe.
Me too mate. They have literally just sacked a better manager than Dyche for not winning in 4 games and 3 of them were draws. There is no universe where they see Dyche as the man to lead their new acquisition and project. They are ruthless and probably already have his replacement sorted.

I thought he was getting a song out of Mykolenko, but injuries have played doubt to that.

McNeil improves under the gaffer.

Whether he improves players. I don't know. He Deffinately gets hard work and hard miles out of his players.
hard yards’ if you don’t mind.

Only if Friedkins wanted him gone, anyway.

If not, they'll give Thelwell some cash to bring in players for the team the bookies tipped amongst the favourites to go down.

Well yeah I think they’ll want him gone if we’re around the bottom 3 in January after we finished mid table last season, and then strengthened in the summer.

Also the bookies predicted Forest to be among the favourites to go down, why aren’t they wallowing in pity and hunkering down for a relegation scrap? 🤷‍♂️

To achieve 48+ points this season we require an average of 1.26 ppg.

Right now we're at 0.71 ppg.

So why do you still refuse to ever criticise the manager?

Because ultimately my frustration with him picking Michael Keane in any circumstance doesn’t really affect the bigger picture at Everton.

What does affect the bigger picture is Dyche achieving the outcomes required over the course of whole seasons (which are the only outcomes that matter). His ppg per season is therefore all I really care about.

It’s not great at the moment but there’s a reason why a season is 38 games long and isn’t a sample of 2, 4 or 7 games. We had a worst start last season to easier fixtures and had a huge winless run in the middle of it, and ended up with 48 points. So it’s not absolutely crazy to think we could do something similar this season which would see us a mid table club when Dyche’s contract ends whereas we were the 2nd worst side in the league when he picked us up.

That would be job done, bigger picture, and ultimately me going mad because I don like that he selects Michael Keane when Branthwaite’s injured is just irrelevant water under a bridge really.

We're the unfittest Everton team I've seen, players are blowing out of their arses after 70 mins, and that's baffling because Dyche says he works mostly on fitness pre - season.

We didn't invest in the team last summer, just as we hadn't for the 2 prior to that.

And Forest? Early days, my friend.

Gibbs-White gets an injury and it impacts them as much as it would Branthwaite for us.

All of those things were happening last season too when we finished technically 12th. So I’ll ask again, what over the course of this summer has caused our expectations to drop off so much that 17th is now acceptable?

Well you can ask that to anyone who wants us to finish 17th (if you can find them). That’s not me though, I’ve said multiple times I think we can exceed last season’s points total and Dyche will leave us as a mid table club.

And whose idea is that Sherlock? You think the players decide or the manager, if it's the players then why, if it's the manager then why is he having young mark burn?

Can't win this mate,

Like I've said in the previous post, it's to free the best headers of the ball to attack it. Dom, Tarko, Doucoure for the most part cleared everything bar 1 corner out of 10...which was a flick on by Tonali (who Doucoure lost) to the back post.

So having Young on Dan Burn worked.

It's thought through mate. They don't just think "yeah, let's get the smallest player on the biggest and see what happens"

No. he said deem 17th as acceptable, not wants us to finish 17th.

I'm more and more convinced that the problem is exactly that mate. He works them so hard on the physical drills that they leave a fair amount of their fitness on the training ground. For all this 'Dyche fit' nonsense, we are always blowing out of our arses by the 70th minute. In my opinion this is a combination of over training, spending far too much of the game chasing shadows with no real possession and Dyche's reluctance to use substitutes.

I think that if we are not looking like being in the relegation shakeup when the take over is ratified, he should see out his contract, but, under no circumstances should it be extended. If, on the other hand, we are in the relegation mix, the Friedkin's first move should be to replace him.
