….he doesn’t look ready to me, I suspect that’s why he’s not yet a starter for Ireland. You could see the difference with Branthwaite, so a bit unfair to think this lad is the same level. I also think Tarkowski is off the pace a bit which won’t help O’Brien.
Do you not need to play regularly to look ready ?
Yanno for that much vaunted word " experience "

Meanwhile with Keane

Well I'd worry about his judgement trusting Keane to play any more games for us.

….anybody knows my history of Keane for many years knows I’m not a fan in the least but I think concentrating on him for the Bournemouth defeat is detracting from issues elsewhere. For me, the key areas for that collapse was in wide defensive areas (full backs) and ultimately, our Central Midfielders getting on the wrong side of theirs.

I’d be hopeful O’Brien will soon force his way into the reckoning but that will largely be up to him.

I'm not concentrating on him for the Bournemouth defeat, I'm concentrating on us letting 2.5 goals a game in when he plays throughout his Everton career. It's career suicide to play him full stop. I'd take an unproven O'Brien over him any day of the week.
