Something dodgy about that last US gold in the basketball.

That was a close call on the French shot being inside the line and handing them 2 rather 3 points. That gold put them 1 ahead of the Chinese. Hmmm...

Is there a genuine reason for it to not be included? Seems ridiculously unfair to deny the young boxers who do a sport; which require more effort and discipline than shooting or the dancing horses.

I think the IOC and the IBA are not the best of friends right now.

There's prestige that needs to be taken into account, if Irelands womens relay team held on for silver or bronze last night there'd have been an argument for that being out best result.

They had hard luck but also were fortunate that the Jamaicans dropped the baton to hand them a chance of a medal.

What's happened to Irish middle distance running? They had a host of stars years ago and now there's nothing it seems.

First off, at 36 she is twice the age of most of the other dancers... Secondly, she wore an Ozzie tracksuit that an athlete would wear!

She was so bad that at one stage I'm sure she was doing the hokey-pokey!

I must say, this Games have been great.

I always considered Los Angeles in 1984 to be the best I'd seen because I saw it as the first of the very modern Olympics - Moscow 4 years earlier looked prehistoric in comparison - but Paris maybe surpasses LA '84.

I was 5 when the LA games happened so my memory is poor but the Seoul Olympics was superb for me.

I watched Barcelona 92 in Dublin at my Mum's family town.

I watched Barcelona 92 in Dublin at my Mum's family town.

I hated Seoul. It was all over the place time-wise. A washout.

The time similarity to the UK is part of the reason why Paris has been so good to watch too.

Barcelona is one of my fonder memories of olympics, a girl in my class won a competition on the radio and everyone in the school got the Barcelona 92 olympic tee-shirt.

Seoul was my first memory of Olympics like the 86 Worldcup so will always be special to me.

London 2012 was superb but as a country we are a million miles from them games. Paris looked superb and used the city to promote the games.

I reckon LA will go all out to prove a point to the rest of the world in 2028.
