Apparently…. And I don’t know if this is 100% accurate, the fighter was actually born female, with a uterus and all female parts intact but with a very high level of testosterone and XY chromosome… now I’m no scientist and would have to didn’t more time researching this to corroborate it, but I just can’t be bothered

I've heard some conflicting stories (with the same level of research done as you have) and that was the last I heard, that the 2 fighters involved in the uproar, are both as you described.

If that is the case, then it begs the question of why it is such an issue. There will be men with higher testosterone levels than others, yet they fight each other. There might be more to it that I am missing, but it is very interesting and I wouldn't want to be the one making the decisions on them both.

Gold medals in wombat wrestling, beer drinking and acting like a tit on the beach are not real sports. Enjoy your gold success, as the real Olympic Games gets under way this weekend.

Sorry the Australian team can’t hear you for all the week 2 drinking and bonking.

It’s odd to see female sprinters with long hair. All that mop is quite heavy. Considering these races can come down to the finest margins, I’m surprised that they don’t all have short cropped hair and completely hairless bodies.

Men's testosterone levels are around 18x that of women's - the only way to have that amount is by having functional testes, there's a DSD called Persistent Müllerian Duct Syndrome which males have a uterus and testes but that only affects XY.

A 'high' testosterone level for women is 2.4nmol/l which is about the same as a pre-pubescent boy.

The thing with that is, both have went through male puberty - and afforded all of the benefits that came along with it. Biological women don't, hence they don't get the benefit of it.

Romania used to have a distance runner with flowing blonde locks. She's probably a granny now.
