…the original Edge Hill Station in Crown St opened in 1830 and was the first passenger railway station in the world. Cut out of the rock & sandstone by Irish navvies using picks only, many of the tunnels remain to this day;

Got off at Edge Hill many times.

Reminds me of the Tysons riggers who'd walk out onto the the end of the tower crane jibs while the Daily Post and Echo,Royal Insurance and Atlantic Hotel construction was going on. Usually after a few lunchtime pints in the Spiral Staircase pub.

Shop in the corner used to be called the hut my mum and dad used to send me there for cigarettes and razor blades in the seventies..I was about 7 . get shot now for sending ye kids for that... . think they'd give the bridge a lick of paint disgrace..

Bridge looks well neglected now, always used to be a nice cream/white, drove under it last week. Do trains still use it? We always used to walk in to Broadway from queens drive the other way.....to get a pendletons twicer
