I wonder what price Everton will 'settle' for? We'll get the stories of United "refusing to be held to ransom", etc. despite the fact they'll end up spending several hundred million this summer and we're actually the selling club in possession of probably the best young centre back in Europe. £70m does seem too low, but I'd hazard a guess that Everton will be only too happy to accept anything north of £50m guaranteed plus bonuses.
Utd media men will make it look like they got a great deal.

We have an owner that doesn’t want to put anymore money into the club. The club is over half a billion in debt because of this. At the minute we’re skint.

Nail on the head this I reckon. Southgate claims it’s too early for him but picks Quansah ahead of him despite Jarrad playing nearly every game this season in front of Englands first choice keeper 🤔
Not ready because he doesn’t play for the big clubs yet

in fairness quansah been sent home. Just had to kick around like a plumb for an extra few days hoping that someone injuries themselves

Surely other clubs will come in for him. United haven't competed for the league in over 10 years, their stadium is falling apart/the roof is leaking, their facilities are 30 years behind most other top sides and they aren't a Champions League team next season. Money is the only motivation to join them at this time and yep it didn't exactly work out for Mason Mount.

Because Mount was injured all season. Branthwaite has probably been told that he’s getting sold. United have probably offered him a decent wage, it’s 40 minutes up the road, and you can say there crap all you like, but there still a miles ahead of us.

We've had points deductions for breaching P&S over the last two periods (even with substantial transfers out each year), so it would be foolish to think we don't have to sell if we want to avoid another.

Southgate said in his interview after the squad had been cut. He would get his first cap and Wembley. Of course losing 1-0 to Iceland changed that. Apparently after the final whistle he went straight down the tunnel

One of thr very VERY few players I'll be really sad to see leave Everton over the last 10-15 years.

He's far better than Utd but I don't blame him for wanting to go there, their name still carries a lot of prestige and they're still always in with a shout of a winning the odd cup so he'll look at it as a great move for his football career.

Going to be a very difficult player to replace and I mean that more as a character than anything. He stepped up when needed and carried the team at times with Tarkowski. Those type of players are very hard to come by.
