Hi folks I will be staying in Times Square New York for 3 days 2nd to 5th July before going on a cruise. Can anyone recommend any good bars and restaurants in the area. I believe there is an evertonian bar somewhere in the area called Turnmill. As long as nobody gives me New Yorks answer to the Lisbon .Cheers.

My mate runs an Irish sports bar on The Bowery in Brooklyn called 'Slainte' Good food,beer and sports on the telly.
I tend to wide berth Times Sq coz it's absolutely gash.... Bushwick and The Bowery are the places I hang around when am in NY.

I went to the Turnmill to watch Sheff Utd v Everton. I was staying not too far from Tjmes Square. There was about 13-15 Blues in there, felt sorry for them tbh, supporting Everton from all those miles away lol
Someone said you can walk to it in about 25mins from our hotel. I'll be there when the euros are on ca you get food in there.

The Turnmill is very centrally located and is, as stated, an Everton first bar. If staying in Times Square, try the Landmark Tavern nearby. Close to the Intrepid Museum and the dock for all of the Hudson NYC boat cruises etc so you'll likely be walking past it anyway if trying those attractions from a Times Square base.
Where you are there for July 4th, I would book any of your activities in advance. NYC is generally chocablock that weekend.

Turnmill is about a 30 min walk down Broadway. Or just jump the subway.
Get out of Time Sq and walk two blocks into Hell’s Kitchen, loads better places to drink there away from the tourist trap.

Virgils BBQ was decent last time we were there.
Yeah mate I walked it and it was about a 25-30 minute walk. It was a nice walk though as it was quiet because Everton were early kick off so it was about 6:45am
Now, I think they do food but on the day we went the chef didn't turn up for work. But fair play to the Aussie fella working behind the bar, him and (I think) the owner jumped in the kitchen and done me and my lad a mini breakfast which wasn't too bad tbh.
Best to double check though, maybe give them a call to see if they do all kinds of food. I enjoyed it though mate
