It should more than match ours if the sliding scale system is used. Otherwise what's stopping a.club smashing the limit by a billion quid? If Forest have breached the limit by significantly more than us (and the feeling is, they have) then they should get a bigger points deduction. And that's before you get into the sporting advantage side of it.

Exactly this. And if it is a sliding scale, ie. 3 points for the breach and 1 point per 5 mill over, then it will be interesting to see what they do end up with.
The frustrating thing for me is that because it's a totally different pannel, they could come to a totally different result/punishment.
I thought that was just rumours and speculation wasn't it? I didn't think we knew exactly how much they had breached by, unless I'm mistaken. Though I take your point, if its a considerably higher breach, I suppose a considerably higher punishment should follow.

If Forest received any less than we did, Everton would well be within their rights to take it to court. They made as much clear in their statement that they were watching the other cases with great interest. The moment the PL hands down a different punishment than what has now been established the club have all the legal force they need.
Depends on the scale I suppose. 6 is for 20m and 9 is for administration that only leaves 7 & 8 for between 21m and infinity.
I don't think their IC will step too far away from what has gone before, although they have a couple of novel factors to play with, in particular the fact they've only spent one year in the PL. It would be interesting to see how out of line with precedent they'd have to get for the PL themselves to appeal.
