Too lazy to find something for every genre but I often recommend this chap to older generations who are big into rock/blues/jazz/soul etc and think what they define as 'real music' doesn't exist anymore.

Saw Michael Kiwanuka at Knebworth, though I like a couple of his songs, he was very disappointing on the day

People do come out with some nonsense, even a casual music fan would recognise 10 off the pyramid alone
I don't - most of them are very British pop/chart music-y which makes sense as it is a British festival, but outside of one specific scene they're pretty much literally a bunch of nobodies.

A lot of the others I have heard of are incredibly boring indie bands/performers, NEA.

Really scraping the barrel for “legends” there weren’t they. Is the fact that you’re from the 90s simply enough to make you a legend these days?

So long as its not the stuff radio stations are filled with (so many stations but all playing the same stuff), invariably not to my taste. Not that there's nothing good out there, I just don't want to put up with 10 hours of (to me) boring for maybe one memorable track.

I discover at least 1 new (to me) artist I like each week through qobuz. Recent revelations have been Nina Simone and early (pre-80s) Clannad.
Give these a go mate. I'm an album person but let me know if you'd rather I link a specific song to try out. Wouldn't call these radio recommendations either but they may be genres you're not used to. I reckon you'll enjoy Idles based on the other genres you've listed:

Justice by Justice. Unbelievable electronica album. Very famous as being one of the best

Joy as an act of resistance by Idles

One of my favourites for something a bit heavier.

Prelude to ecstasy by the last dinner party -

On track to be a breakout year for them. Really good female led band

Alright that. Wouldn't make my collection - but what makes a music bite you is really hard to pin down.

Plenty of great jazz and blues artists on there for you. In fact, over the years jazz and blues artists have been the highlights.

In terms of metal and folk, I couldn't tell you as I'm not much of a fan of that type of music.

Would say PJ harvey hits every single genre you've mentioned.

Janelle Monae is the one I'm looking forward to most.

If you're so into music then why are you so dismissive to anything that happened after you turned 40?
I'm not dismissive of it, and I'm not trying to put it down - I'll be the first to say even my most detested band has way more musical talent than I'llever have. I'm just not up to the fight of finding the music that appeals to me in an (to my ears) ocean of modern mediocrity.

Music is my life. I have an enormous collection, spanning rock, indie, metal, folk, folk rock, world, jazz, blues, classical, medieval etc. I recognise 5 names in the entire Glastonbury list, one of which is Coldplay.

I like Yellow. That's it.

It will sound better on my hifi.
Glastonbury is about discovery mate. I'm 54 in 2 wks and love just wandering around finding new stuff, acts etc to listen to and get immersed in.
Get mashed off ye tits for breakfast and see what the day brings.
Planning never works and is for straight heads.

The first .... no thanks ... I left electronic music behind with Jean Michelle Jarre - a flame that burned strong then went out.

The second ... better but a bit early 80s - a decade of music I detested. Having said that, it was better than most things I heard in the 80s.

Third - I quite liked, but a bit overproduced.... thought it was a film score at first.
