There's about 4 "pop" artists on that line up.

It is filled with great artists spanning most the genres you mentioned in your original post.
Having given up on music radio in the 1980s Im sure there are loads of bands that pass ne by. Please enlighten me - and I'll have a listen. To help I'll say that I like characterful voices. Im not expecting any classical or medieval plainchant, but pease list your best tip for each category:

Folk
Folk rock
Metal
Jazz
Blues

Ta.

Who would you like on there? Name 5
Sadly Pink Floyd are unlikely. Are The Who still alive?

Jethro Tull
Christy Moore
Black Sabbath
Levellers
Heather Nova
Cat Stevens (he was there last year)
Billie Eilish (ditto)

Oops that's 7.

The who have headlined, the levellers have played numerous times lol you have to have some new artists

I'm a middle aged bloke with a record collection predominantly filled with stuff that is somewhere around 25 - 70 years old with a few more modern bits and bobs. The Glastonbury line-up should always be filled with bands I've never heard of.

This time last year I had no clue who Lil Nas X was but I sat down and enjoyed the hell out of his set. Would I buy his records? Nah, not for me in terms of sitting and listening but it was still entertaining. Same goes for The Viagra Boys. Plus I got to have my fuzzy warm nostalgia swim with GnR and Sparks.

Personally I think it's disappointing that mediocre drips like Coldplay (again) are taking up those valuable centrist dad slots. Thankfully PJ Harvey will effortlessly blow them away. I reckon there's probably a decent announcement or two yet to be made though.

Loads of great artists there.

The problem is the headliners make the headlines.

If you like your music then that’s a cracking line up with plenty of great artists to see.

i dunno, the line up is very '00 currently. i think they're trying to appeal to a younger audience which is the way to do it and '00 is huge on tiktok at the moment.

still, i'd rather see who is there on that than see some 60yr old do a guitar solo so i can nod along to 'proper music'

It seems that Glastonbury have chosen acts from the narrow slice of music that my vibe doesn't dig, man. Not a problem, just a surprise.
It happens every year. Theres a period in the weekend where no act you know is on stage. This is when you explore the various stages and you'll find a performance or a group that you've never considered before.

The only one i would pay to see in that lineup is Michael Kiwanuka
the rest of them i would close my window and curtains if they were in my garden

Too lazy to find something for every genre but I often recommend this chap to older generations who are big into rock/blues/jazz/soul etc and think what they define as 'real music' doesn't exist anymore.

Plenty of great jazz and blues artists on there for you. In fact, over the years jazz and blues artists have been the highlights.

In terms of metal and folk, I couldn't tell you as I'm not much of a fan of that type of music.

Would say PJ harvey hits every single genre you've mentioned.

Janelle Monae is the one I'm looking forward to most.

If you're so into music then why are you so dismissive to anything that happened after you turned 40?
