Portugese clubs got extensive connections in Brazil, same language so for a lot of Brazilian talents/good players Portugese giants are logical step for cross in European football

Work permits help the Portugese teams as they are still part of the EU. I think it is harder now in the UK due to Brexit. I could be totally wrong BTW.

Champions League draw to be made by computer due to complex new format

The new expanded Champions League format is so complex that the draw will be made by computer after Uefa found it would take up to four hours otherwise

I think it's fair to say that when you cannot hold the draw manually in full view of the public, your new system is probably too complex.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but why would anybody trust UEFA to be remotely transparent? There will be no benefit of the doubt. Like VAR, this is simply another tool with which to control the "narrative"...

I think we all know that the computer will give maximum entertainment value when working out opponents and fixtures etc.

Also Porto have the added bonus of playing European football regularly and players know they will be right in the shop window.
