I don't think everyone was, or at least not to that extent. While there are those who are happy with it, the anecdotal evidence suggests most thought it was harsh.I think you're living in a blueblue bubble if you believe this. Everybody was made up to stick it to us.
I think the backdrop of the City infringements and lack of punishment (even if they are very different charges) probably helped a lot of people side with us.
You only have to read the media room after it was announced to see how many people within the sport (pundits, managers et al.) thought it was extreme.
We were always going to get some punishment because, rightly or wrongly, we are guilty, and we admitted as much. The PL couldn't let it wash.
It's the sanction that is the issue.
