Roberto Martinez still thinks Everton are part of the relegation battle.

I'd like to see what Martinez could do with some actual football players though. It's not fair comparing our performances to Wigan's when their team is utterly, utterly, utterly gash. Maybe even Adam, as Goat might say.

Moyes has some quality players at his disposal yet we play some truly awful football

I would love to see an attacking minded manager given the chance with our squad

Wigan arent even Adam, they are badly Spearing.

Well then, you see my point.

Martinez is actually taking a knife to a gunfight week in, week out, in that he has a championship squad.

Conversely Moyes has top class players at his disposable, so like I said, it's not a fair comparison.

That said I think Moyes would do a better job than Martinez at keeping Wigan up, simply because Moyes is at his best when his team are underdogs and there's no expectation.

You mean like Holloway?

If this Martinez was as good as some of you claim, his team wouldnt be anchoring the Premiership.

I think people proclaim that he's good because he keeps a team of utter gashness in the league, when they have no right on paper, whilst also playing good football.

And he's done it a few times so in the same way the pro-Moyes crowd say "wait until the end of the season before you judge" he should be given the same courtesy. I don't think Wigan will stay up this year mind, but then I thought that last year too.

Anyway, my point was that his job and Moyes' are two that are very different. Moyes has expectation and a quality team. Martinez has no expectation and a collection of people that would feel dishonest putting "footballer" down as their profession on a census.

P.S. I've not personally proclaimed Martinez to be anything that special. I like him as a bloke and would like to see him get a shot at managing a team with good players.
