The thing with Maupay is, like anyone with sense says, he wasn’t nearly as bad as he looked with us. He was just playing in a system designed for a lad who’s literally a foot taller than him.

He was always going to struggle here. Hopefully when Toney gets sold in the summer they’ll keep Maupay on as the new striker’s backup for a cheapish price, does well for them in fairness. I think he’d probably be a bit better under Dyche this year but ultimately he’s just not a good finisher, like DCL and Beto unfortunately.

….he was bad for us, even the basics of forward play was poor.
 
Shocked that a fella Warwick Davies would tower over looked abysmal up front on his own in a Dyche hoofball side. Let's also not pretend he's scoring worldies either, most his goals for brentford are tap ins
