6 + 2 Point Deductions

It isn't to do with Stadium spending though. Even if you allow the interest for none Stadium spending to be written off as a PSR deduction we would still have failed PSR and would be facing a points deduction. Why are so many people falling for the board's lies and spin?

Why are people pretending this is a technical accounting decision? Even with Stadium interest and the transfer levy we still fail PSR, we would still get a points deduction.

The board deliberately chose not to stay within PSR to allow us to continue to spend beyond our means with the intention of giving us the best chance of staying up. The club and the fans are now suffering because of terrible decisions made by the board. Even after failing once and having from December 2022 until summer 2023 to rectify things the board still didn't make simple adjustments that would have allowed us to stay inside PSR.

The board has been arrogant and stupid. We are now facing two points penalties and are on the brink of administration because of actions taken by the board. This isn't corruption by the Premier League this is wilful ineptitude and mismanagement on a grand scale by Moshiri and his lackeys on the board.

You could just about make a case for ignoring PSR and building a quality squad that would improve income from being more successful on the pitch. Instead, Moshiri pissed away hundreds of millions of pounds, has left the club in a billion pounds of debt, with a truly terrible squad and facing down the barrel of two points deductions and near-certain administration.

Yet pointing out this renders you wide open to insults and accusations of supporting another team.

The majority of supporters on here are reminiscent of the supporters of a criminal who kept getting away with it and became more brazen. Instead of taking heed of a succession of near misses and changing course. They finally get caught and then blame those holding them to account as corrupt.

Let's be honest here the board could have easily ensured we passed PSR, especially the second time but they chose not to and are now bleating about the consequences of their actions. The initial defence was cringeworthy and reminiscent of a 8-year-olds excuses for not handing in their homework.

The club. The fans and the likes of Dyche deserve much better. However, things will never improve until we accept the failures of the board and move on. This is a disaster decades in the making and the idiots looking for scapegoats and piling in on any poster who calls it like it is deserve a huge portion of the blame.

So how about instead of throwing insults around like hand grenades and accusing posters of supporting another team how about debating the points raised. Or is it easier to post a middle finger emoji and then watch the club go under.

The club needs action now. The only chance we have is to grow up stop blaming everyone else and get rid of the Board. Not to shout corruption and pretend there is a grand conspiracy.
Good morning pal. Thank you for these paragraphs as you cosplay an Evertonian. A worthy cause and effort I feel.

I don't know how to keep the issue raised and in the spotlight, I think we have broken the rules but this on field points deduction which effects us fans needs to be part of a media script. Currently only a handful of politicians and pundits want to challenge it and accept that the 'Pyramid' is always right and untouchable.

It might not do any good but I've sent Masters an email asking him to explain the comments. I doubt he will read it but feel pretty useless sitting here doing nothing.

Subject: Clarification and Concerns Regarding Recent Remarks on Everton and Nottingham Forest

Dear Mr. Masters,

I trust this letter finds you well. I am writing to express concerns regarding your recent remarks during the hearing with the Culture, Media, and Sports committee in Parliament, where you referred to Everton and Nottingham Forest as 'small clubs.' As a dedicated football enthusiast, I believe it is essential to seek clarification on your definition of big and small clubs.

Both Everton and Nottingham Forest boast rich histories, having played pivotal roles in the development of football. Everton, as one of the founding clubs of the Football League, and both clubs, with substantial fan bases, contribute significantly to the sport's tradition. Their trophy-laden pasts further underscore their impact on the footballing world.

In light of your comments, I am keen to understand the criteria you employ to categorize clubs as big or small. It seems pertinent, especially given the substantial historical contributions and passionate fan bases associated with Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Furthermore, there is growing concern among football enthusiasts regarding the perceived discrepancy in disciplinary actions. The lack of sanctions against Manchester City and Chelsea, despite substantial breaches of rules, raises questions about transparency and fairness. If the criteria for categorizing clubs influences such decisions, it is crucial to address these concerns openly.

I appreciate your attention to these matters and kindly request a response directly from you, as it is essential to foster transparency and maintain the integrity of the Premier League.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Whether people agree with other posters, middle finger them, accept it’s all the boards fault, understand the accounting, none of that will make a scrap of difference to any of the club’s outcomes, make the club go under, or alternatively help the club move on.

You need to understand the forum and thread in particular, whilst informative, is also blatantly where blues are coming for a bit of joint comfort and bit of a rant. I think that is far far more important than anyone’s obsessive slightly scary desire to be RIGHT and demand that everyone agrees with them (whether correct or not), and then blaming others for making the situation worse by not agreeing.

Interesting that the report you take so much from said Everton didn't deliberately breach the rules to gain an advantage, but you've decided they did.

Does anyone know why the PL have not said when City`s hearing is to go ahead? They confirmed they have set a date but when asked said they were unable to make the date public. They seemed to be able to let people know when our the date for our hearing when it was set, and that they wanted us to get a point deduction, well before we were found guilty.
I believe that this is considered "sensitive" information and I guess it is protecting city interests to some degree as they could still be proven innocent once the process has completed after the hearing. If it was public knowledge he could damage prospects for city for example in competing for players, sponsorships, etc...

Everton have huge problems as we all know, some caused by the new stadium.
There are however stadium issues with other clubs. Chelsea have a big decision about the Stamford Bridge redevelopment or a new ground elsewhere. West Ham have day to day problems with their stadium and big issues when the temporary bits need replacing. United have many things to resolve with the OT stadium.
So a potential Everton investor may see our problems as just challenges to overcome. First off, divide the debt mountain between stadium related and the rest. Bigger part stadium related, figure about the same as Spurs. Look for long term debt like Spurs, they pay interest but no principal, a one off bullet payment due in many years time, even then debt or part may be rolled forward. Take a view on non stadium debts, including possible payments to relegated clubs.
Keep powder dry for now since the longer unresolved the better the deal may be had.
Have a clear picture of a sunny day in August 2025 with the first game at the new stadium.
Not saying this will happen but it certainly could.

No one's said we wouldn't be over.
No one's said we shouldn't have been punished.
No one's taking the spin from the board or anyone that we're innocent.

What's argued is the stadium is huge factor.
Any stadium costs should be taken off the table regardless.
10 points is extremely harsh.
That the PL don't have any clear guidelines towards punishment.
The PL are deciding things adhoc
Reconfirmed the gap P&SR creates between the top 6 and everyone else in relation to making it a fair competition.

We're bang to rights, we've admitted it. But the arguement is how much, what is the punishment, and the next steps.

All of which are debatable.

From the same fella who lords over the independent review board even though the former finance director was in charge at west ham when they got done for the carlo tevez transfer. But of course that had nothing to do with him. Obviously on that one the finance director was driving the team bus or something.
Nothing to see here. Fully fit and proper.

I currently don't have anyone on ignore, I can deal with people having a different opinion than me, but @gwladysnight is getting close, I am now 100% certain that this individual is on a wind up and I ask @GrandOldTeam to punt this obvious kopite from the forum, he has dismissed everything that is in Everton's favor and when copying articles to post here cherry picks what's copied just to have a go at Everton.
EDIT just had a look at his posts there is only this thread and the fireworks thread that he's mainly commented on, comments on match threads including our 4 game winning run are basically non existent .. very strange Everton fan this one...

How is the Stadium a huge factor?

All legitimate Stadium costs have been allowed as PSR deductions.

That list is absolutely awful - has any team bar chelsea/utd wasted so much money. We replaced John stones with a past it Ashley Williams and didn’t even bother to replace lukaku.
I think we paid Swansea FC near 60 million for two players, not VFM - no sell on fees in the end .... SIG = Nil & Williams about 5 million if that ?

The board already has been “got rid of” Baileyjon you kopite weirdo, shows how much attention you actually pay to this football club while berating people about “not going the game” in the same breath. You don’t even know who is on our board, there’s nobody left bar Moshiri from the board. The CEO, finance director, non exec and chairman have all gone.

Go back to breaking into football stadiums illegally and getting tear gassed you absolute lizard.
