Is that behind Fenwick Street? If so I staggered past that absolutely hammered a few years ago and stood there staring at it for ages trying to work out where I was

Favourite of mine. It was built from the subscriptions of slave owners like, but the building cant help that.

gerrard gardens and all them other old tenements they had in town , strange to think they where all there to what’s there now

I used to love the look of Gerrard Gardens and the Bullring etc.

The ideology behind the designs of such buildings were noble.

I wish they'd jib the Adelphi owners off and do something with that fine building. They'd have to completely gut it out but what a waste of a stunning building as it is. That has the potential to be one of the finest hotels around. Mind you, it's hardly on 5th Avenue.

South end lad eh!

I used to be fascinated by tenements. When I was a lad we had some family in Cartwright House in Vauxhall and I used to be petrified but very curious when going there. The kids all looked murderous but they had a good community going I think...you'd know best.

The waste chutes stuck in my mind for some reason.

Interesting though. The designer would probably say "it's what you want it to mean".
