Sir Landon Of Donovan

I'm going to cry real tears when he leaves. Honest to god, this is like staying over at a boss cousins and being demanded to go "home" by your parents.

Seriously, he's like the girlfriend you always loved coming back to town for a visit, having a three day weekend of shagging and good times, and then you have to take her to the airport...For the love of God, can't we find a way to buy him? FFS.

It's amazing how much more balanced the right side looks when he's here. And his defensive efforts are underrated. Today he once again put Ashley Cole in his back pocket and left him there.

I hope Drenthe can give us the balance LD does. Cause if not, Pienaar will be bright, but we'll be missing our right sided maestro giving us a stellar team.

I like how eric wynalda publicly challenged Donovan to stay. Can stand wynalda, but if his comment saying that if he doesn't stay he lacks ambition encourages Landon to stay, I'll be grateful. You know it's the games like that why LD came back. How could you not love playing in front of that crowd, against some of the best competition in the world, with a team that believes and fights for each other. Must be very professionally rewarding as well as just personally enjoyable.

Eric Wynalda is effing clueless and takes every chance he can get to throw Landon under the bus - especially since Landon has broken his stats.

Talk about arrogance.

I would love Lando to stay, but Eric's comments completely ignored the fact that Landon DOES have a contract and that MLS does have a say in the matter. He made it sound like Landon could waltz over tomorrow if he had "ambition." WTF dude.

Oh, and by the way:

@MLS_Analyst: Since the beginning of January, Donovan is leading the Premier League in assists.

BOOM.

Oh and for the record, my comment was supposed to be, "I can't stand wynalda". I agree with everything kay20 said. We all know that contracts in sport are a bit fungible. If Landon wanted to stay, he could force it... But I really don't see us being able to put up the money, and Donovan won't want to look disloyal.

Landon needs to go to the Galaxy and MLS and force a move behind the scenes. If he wants to be known as the best American outfield player ever, he needs to come to Everton full time and finish his career. He needs to do a Dempsey. That simple.
