Now that just rubs it in. Think of lil old me on ancient net dial up speeds. And its not likely to change. Broadband in Cuba is decades off.
The cigars are nice though.
Question: If Im back home for something silly like ten days and want one of those laptop internet card things, is there anywhere I can just rent one rather than buy. Are they any good/fast?

Good spotting, yup, indeed that is an X-Trail! We live in the top of the North Island, in the middle of damn near nowhere
Don't be entirely mislead by media etc, NZ is like any western country, there is always pollution, always a drug scene, etc. It just so happens that all of these things are on a smaller scale than other countries.
But saying that once outsdie the major cities (we have about ohh, 5 of those
), things are much better, and nicer.We lived in London for going on 10 years, but now live on a 20 acre 'farm' with our nearest neighbours over 1km away, so peace, quiet, and nature - cant ask for more than that - oh yeah and BROADBAND :>

Hi BKiwi Had a weeks hols on the North Island with my wife some years back. It absolutley chucked it down solid for 3 days but then was okay. Sure liked the place though.
By the way I have an X-trail as well. But in NZ, yours I bet cost more than they are here.
