VAR

I've just been reading on the BBC football website an article by the most honest, unflappable, uncorrupt, diligent referee ever, that's officiated in the PL.
I'm talking of course about Mark Clattenburg. How he's had the barefaced cheek to say some of the things he has is beyond belief.
Amongst the drivel "I never ever had a problem on the pitch with dissent..."
The whole article which was about VAR is still up for perusal.

Just seen Coufals forearm smash to the face of a Wolves player not even a booking and VAR saying nothing to see here, ridiculous officiating should’ve deffo had been a sending off.
Wolves are being shafted every week, I want O neill to keep calling them out it’s barely debatable how the refs are stitching them up at every opportunity.

Remember when spurs played Chelsea when Leicester won the league and the whole game was out of his control. So much so I stuck money on a red card… never showed one though…
Later said he didn’t want his decision to impact the league… there was about 5 occasions the red should have come out… I was fuming

The guy claimed he never had an issue with dissent. Other than when brow beaten by Stevie Me in the derby to get Hibbert sent off. And let's not go down the road of backhanders which forced him to scuttle away abroad.

Just been watching the latest edition of mic'd up. I still don't think it was a penalty when martial went over youngs leg. It was poor from young to make a late attempt of a challenge which gives the officials a decision to make. But Martial has definitely initiated the contact.

The run he makes is not in line with where he kicked the ball and he left his left leg out hanging. It is a difficult one because of interpretation, but there is no way var should have overturned it because its not clear and obvious that young has fouled him, Michael Owen even said he felt Martial initiated the contact.

HORRENDOUS decision

Not a chance in a million years we'd have got a decision like that
Not really any different from when McNeil (I think) was bundled over in their box when challenged by 3 of their defenders. Anywhere else on the pitch for spurs he’s giving a foul, but no chance we would get a pen for it.
Basic contact really and neither should be fouls but refereeing consistency once again is arbitrary.
