If you’re a side with a big squad of top level players then you can afford to loan out all of your promising younger players

If you’re a side with small squad that is a few injuries away from square pegs in round holes just to field a starting XI, then loaning out anyone is madness

We’ve got two experienced players there in Coleman and Young who are showing their age but can still play when needed

Go with Patterson as the starter and rotate the experienced heads in as required

Patterson can handle it, I trust him

We played Burnley mate.

I do agree he was part of a winning team though so I wouldn't be surprised if Dyche left him in.

His call. If he decides Young or Coleman comes back in Ild easily understand that too.
Each to their own but really cant see how anyone can prefer Young at Right back over Patterson.

Patterson got a booking yesterday but I didnt once feel nervous that he would get a 2nd booking and shows greater maturity than 38 year old Young who always look like he could be sent off.

I think what's being said here is that because of his poor judgement on trying things in the final third and his failure to stay awake to danger at the far post when we face counter attacks Dyche playing Coleman and Young ahead of him is very understandable.

He's 22 years of age now. Why is it taking him so long to learn basics?
Coleman took until he was 24 to be ready to play RB. Have patience.

We won and kept a clean sheet. Our 4th on the bounce. Celebrate it. Don’t have to look for negatives in everything.

In fairness to Young, I am pretty certain he was brought into cover / rest Myko, Seamus to cover / rest Patterson. I think it is perfectly fair to point out the strengths and weaknesses of all four, but the fact of the matter is the future does not lie with Young and Coleman. It may not lie with Patterson or Mykolenko either, but we MUST rotate them with the experienced players to build up their confidence and experience. That has been done well with Myko so far and we are seeing the benefits. If Dyche believes it is time to do the same now with Patterson, then so be it. Sink or swim time.

Was ok still need him to do better and grow into the role like myko
He might if he gets a run in the team - why he is dropped for a 38-year-old has been Dyche only knows - or is it to justify spending 2.5 million on wages for him ?

Patterson this season has not done much wrong - Young has Villa used him sparingingly he almost number one for us on the team sheet even if he plays pants ..... only dropped as he is injured - the Burnley winger would have had him on toast in the first ten minutes when they attacked us hard .....

He has cost us points - end of - Coleman was well ahead of him when he played ... sadly not available due to injury....

Patterson needs a run in the team .... he gets over the half way line too.....

Well at least if Young played we wouldnt have to watch him for 90minutes.

He wouldnt make it out the first half without getting sent off.

Young's big fault recently is discipline...and that's a result of not being quick enough anymore. But in a team sitting deep, which we will be, Ild take him to do a good job.

Agree with you he needs a run of games hard to come in for one and exoect him to be on it, if young is fit tuesday and we still have the lb problem. Maybe try young infront to give him more defensive cover
