Given that the PL is obviously corrupt and are looking to make sure we go down .... I am fully expecting the story to continue with dodgy VAR decisions / ridiculous bookings and red cards and gereral in match decisions to make things increasingly difficult. A red card or PK against us tomorrow seems nailed on !
Is there an escape tunnel for the ref out of goodison. We are fairly good at locking people in.

The confidence after the points deduction baffled me.

Sure, we've had a great 6/7 weeks but we've been crap 3 years before that. If we repeat our average points per game the last 3 years we go down.

We've got a big fight on our hands. A iffy run of games until the new year ahead will be telling - don't underestimate the impact of pressure. If we are bottom 4 come Jan, it'll be a fight until May IMO.
If we repeat our average points from the last few seasons Luton would still have to massively improve to stay up, even taking into account today’s win.

Our average over the last 3 seasons has been c0.9 points per game. They are currently on 0.7 points per game after today.

our current run rate is 1.15 points per game, including our poor start.

Unless we do even worse than the last 3 seasons, we are still fine.

1 win is not a run. And Palace are quite bad. From 12th down are just bad teams, and beating any of them every now and then isnt an accomplishment. What some of us have been saying, and will continue to say, is that as long as the team plays like it has been ever since weve had an actual striker, its not a worry. This team is better than the bottom 8.
That's fine - but we cannot reasonably rely on "having an actual striker". I mean, we haven't had a striker for more than a handful of games over the last two years. Another DCL injury - put money on it - leaves us with Beto who, sad to say, hasn't really settled yet. In other words, we're in a huge battle.

Luton ‘on a run’.
Potentially the start of one. Potentially a false dawn. Three points, though, when we were told the three promoted clubs were already dead and buried. Beware the shouts of "a good season to be docked 10 points." There's never a good season to be docked points we should never have taken away from us. Dismissing these clubs' chances of staying up allows the powers-that-be to normalise their abnormal, self-serving injustice.

We're a DCL injury away from the abyss. A win tomorrow and I'll start to think we'll be fine. The usual no-show against United with Martial and Antony netting their annual goals against us and, well, we're five points behind the mighty Luton. Those three points they took off us are looking extremely costly right now...

Luton are going get injuries too.

We had 26 games to make 2 points on a side that had got 6 points all season. They’ve won one more game but to think they are going to go on a massive run just isn’t realistic. At all.

We’ve got United. It’s tough. But we aren’t going to get relegated this weekend and we aren’t getting to safety.

We just need to do better over 26 games which, based on this season so far, is very likely.

As if you even know who they are.

If not 10 back, then what would be guessing at?
Should be all ten suspended a year, pending further 'breaches'. Win win. PL still look 'ard (and definitely, absolutely, totally not in need of an IR) while the competitive integrity of the entire season remains intact along with our chances of avoiding relegation/implosion/stadium move collapsing.

Realistically, anything better than half being given back is probably asking the fates a lot given our luck with off-pitch matters.

Sadly, I can sense that the political push isn't going to be enough. Club footy coming back is cloaking it. Plus, nobody in genuine power (certainly not a Tory) has really taken notice or pledged to do something.

Would take 3 pt deduction now if offered - nothing to us, we can cope no problem on recent evidence. But even a single point is still a huge rip off though... because remember, "NO SPORTING ADVANTAGE!"

Not my words Lynn, the words of the commission...

I shouldn’t have looked at the league, nor the fixtures, nor anything else. If our points deduction isn’t overturned then we are in serious trouble I think.
