Moments after this image was captured, SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau was snatched into the jaws of Tilikum, the Orca pictured here, and brutally killed. Her body was then thrashed for over 45 minutes while the horrified crowd helplessly looked on. As of 2022, There have only been 4 human deaths caused by orcas. Tilikum was responsible for 3 of them.​

How do you let the same animal kill 3 different people, and how did the crowd "helplessly" look on for 45 minutes?? Couldn't they just leave, or turn their backs?

There's a forum on Facebook called the Dull men's club, I've just read about a man who steams the labels off beer bottles and collects them in albums.

How do you let the same animal kill 3 different people, and how did the crowd "helplessly" look on for 45 minutes?? Couldn't they just leave, or turn their backs?

There's a reason they are called Killer Whales , surely knowing what these animals are capable of there would be people with suitable guns/ firearms to step in if something like this happens.
Absolutely crazy that people looked on and watched this happen for 45 minutes.

These animals are top of the food chain in the marine world , they even prey on Great White sharks , holding them captive to perform circus tricks is cruel and unfortunately result in outcomes like this.

Captive orca's have been being phased out for well over a decade. Very grizzly way to go, a lot of the trainers are advocates of better welfare for and education and understanding of marine wildlife. It's no comfort in cases such as this one, and sadly there's more than a few.
