Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. It's cold and clear here today. A bit of frost but gorgeous blue skies. I love these kind of mornings. I'm so sorry @Armaghtoffee for the sadness you are feeling and the devastating loss to the families involved.
No plans today although daughter has requested a Sunday dinner- we haven’t had one for a while so I'll do that. What's the stance on Yorkshire puddings here? In the North East they have them with every kind of meat. My mother in law used to serve huge ones as a starter. This came as a big surprise to me on my first visit - I was wondering where the rest of my dinner was!
I'll probably go to the gym later this morning.
Have a good day x
Never ever see a Yorkshire Pudding over here.

Doing a full Christmas dinner today myself, little trial run before the big day. Turkey sandwiches for lunch on Monday and Tuesday it is then 😀

That seems to be the norm with Yorkshire puds these days. I remember one Christmas one of my nephews asked where the YP was. He was lucky to avoid having a serving spoon thrust down his throat 😀 Cal was not happy.

I blame the carvery culture

Don't know about Yorkshire's with every type of meat , we have them with every type of veggie roast

Morning all, misty here which, to me, always seems appropriate for Remembrance Day.
I looked up the news item regarding the car crash @Armaghtoffee and it is so so sad. I hope that your faith is giving you and the community some comfort.
Re scotch whisky debate: On learning of our impending wedding the landlord of the local pub insisted on buying us a drink. Mr G asked for a pint as he is not one for spirits, landlord said the occasion called for more than beer so got him a double whisky. Neither of us can stand the stuff and although we tried to drink it between the two of us we couldn’t. It’s a cliche but we really did tip it into a convenient plant pot. I haven’t touched alcohol for years now, had to give up on medical advice, blood pressure, migraines etc. I still miss a drink but the thought of the resulting headache is enough to put me off.
@jazzy hope you start to feel better today but enjoy Tintin’s cuddles and your day in front of the telly.
Grandkid no 2 is appearing in the West End today. Her drama group has been picked to appear at Her (or is it His now?) Majesty’s Theatre. She plays her cards pretty close to her chest and never performs in front of family. I didn’t even know she could sing until she was picked as the vocalist for a group picked from local schools to entertain care homes etc.
Have a good day, all💙

I love a blazing hot turkey curry!

Spanish chicken sounds ideal for Christmas both in flavour and in less washing up terms.

I’m good today mate. Funeral to do then big meal at home to look forward to. Have to work in Belfast tomorrow so no accompanying wine alas.

Thanks Anj.

I didn't intend that post to pull on the heart strings. It's just how it is. There will be lots of people in a much worse situation than me on Xmas day. I'll still celebrate the day and have a good time. I'll be absolutely fine.

Forgot about the funeral. We never have them on a Sunday here so always seems a bit strange. Don't drink too much. I know from personal experience what you guys are like at funerals.

Thanks Anj.

I know you didn't but I feel sad when I hear of people on their own at Christmas. I'm sure you will be fine. X
