Sir Landon Of Donovan

I think that he is an excellent player. He isn't Messi but he makes superb runs (one of the few players in our team who's movement off the ball is good), he has an excellent delivery and can see a pass, as well as being quick.

im not disputing what you say it's just personally i don't see anything stand out special about him, out of the top ten teams in the prem i don't think he would get a start at any of them ( except us) and I think it's sad that we pin our hopes on an ordinary player who is only here for a handful of games a season.

The enigma that is Landon is very.. bizarre. How many loan deals do you know do not one, but TWO in-store signing sessions ?!! Since coming back, he's loved it here, the atmosphere in the 'camp', his closeness to his buddies ( Holden, Howard, Hannehman and Dempsey..he even went to London the other day for a 'day out') and with social media at his disposal. His Twitter feed has blown up - He can even watch the ex-missus on Rules of Engagement on E4 practically everyday!!

The only thing stopping him from joining are the money and the weather !! But he's a resilient little chap and I'm sure he's used to playing in the doom and gloom . Playing in Chicago, New York and Germany will build you up some how. Now, the money aspect ! Been covered hundreds of times on here the many permutations of how that could go, but if we do sell or make a down payment , I think we could broker a decent deal. He may be 29 and he may be here for a short period ..but by God, we're gonna miss him come the end of February if he goes back.

says the deal is done.

*prepares to be shot down in flames* is it only me who can't see the huge fuss made over Landon ?? yes admiteddly he is a half decent player but he is no world beater by any stretch of the imagination.. i just don't understand why he has been built up into this all conquering messsi-esque type of superhero saviour of the club..... for me he is slightly better than average.....sorry.

Have you seen how many assists he has got

i dont think he is a bad player by any means but I also don't think he is the answer to our problems. It has been stated that his movement off the ball is good, he has pace, he can deliver a ball.............fantastic...but any team in the prem will have that type of player.... i think the reason people rave about Landon is the fact that he does these things ( running, passing and crossing ) in a team where any kind of speed of attack is non existant. I don't hat Landon....I just think he is a run of the mill above average premier league player.

i think the issue here is WE dont have anyone thats does run at defences and deliver teh ball. so we do need him and i think hes better than most at it. Again its only my opinion but i would love him to sign a deal to stay here.

Now that LA have kept Beckham, maybe that won't mind as much letting Landon go? Or is it the league who sells the player or something weird? MLS confuses me.

im not disagreeing with you, we deffo need players who run at defences and take them on and deliver.....but... i still dont think that Landon is the player that most on here are making him out to be...... i think the americans call it "overhyped".

To be fair he is a pretty good player who's done a decent job with us with an instant impact. Too bad he's taken Royston's spot on the right so that kinda eats some of the benefits of him.

We do not have many "above averages premier league players" we certainly dont have anyone that is doing what Landond can do for 90 minutes, maybe Drenthe can do the business but having both of them on the pitch does give more options. I think it would be excellent to sign him permanent and given the certainty of signing Jelavic then the more crosses coming from , Drenthe, Baines and Donovan the better. I just dont think we would get someone as good as him.

I think the league decide what pick he is in the Draft. They are all then placed on the back of a Bull and if they stay on over 8 seconds they progress to the next tier. Tier 2 players are then shot out of a cannon at pictures of each team and are drafted to the team they fall nearest to.

Or something
