It’s not a loanObviously his loan deal with us is very complicated but we really need to exercise whatever clause is there to jettison him back to spurs.
Herein lies the problem. He's not wanted to actually put in the work of a professional for half a decade now. That's not going to change any time soon. Yes, we all have great sympathy with him and support him if he's still going through all kinds of trauma which is quite likely, but he's finished as an athlete and we're just the suckers left to pick up the bill. It’s not a loan
Make sure you are fully comprehending of a situation before you comment on it.
It prevents you making ill informed, wholly incorrect statements.
Also, if we can get the lad back on the pitch performing at even 50% of what he his capable of, he will be one of only two players we have who are worth the price of admission. (The other being Pickford.)
He is also our only genuinely creative player.
So I’d prefer we gave him until the end of his contract to prove himself , and yes he is contracted to us and is therefore our player, so let’s support the lad.
That unfortunately is the situation as it stands and I think we all want Dele to get back on his feet as a man but I don’t think he will coming back to help us as a player.Herein lies the problem. You clearly know the man on a personal level to know where his mental attitude to football is right now as well as having been able to watch him recover from injury and start to rebuild his fitness to be so certain of his demise as a footballer.Herein lies the problem. Just expect the goalposts to move on here and you won’t be disappointed, it’s better to be seen as being right than admit you got it wrong. It’s the way of the internet.Forget the Everton angle for a while.
What would you say constitutes a successful comeback for Dele
20 top flight games (in a major league) over a full season?
5 goals? 10 goals?
An international recall?
I only ask because so many are utterly convinced he's completely finished as a top level player. What would the naysayers who say such a thing make them admit they're clueless. (one presumes a single substitute appearance would be enough as he's 'done.')

DCL “will never, ever, play for Everton again” according to some on these pages, when he did start in our run in to the end of last season it was spun to “See, he only lasted 5 games”…
I hope Dele is gaining the mental tools to be able to function in the way he now wants first, then gets himself physically fit and we can go from there. I’d love him to get back to half the player (which is NOT impossible) as he would still be able to contribute to our season.

My thoughts too, it’d be hard for him to make us worseWhat harm is there in playing him for six games to see how it goes?
