Gbamin

Gbamin was a Brands signing though wasn't he?

….he was certainly DoF and players with a history of thigh muscle injuries should’ve been given a wide berth. Same with Fabian Delph. I wouldn’t defend Brands for specific signings under his tenure even if it’s difficult to determine who acquired each individual.

I will defend Brands for keeping the Madhouse together. He was popular with FF staff, worked WITH managers, was respected by different factions on the Board. I believe he kept plates spinning until the Rondon signing made his position untenable. The madhouse has turned into a sinking ship. Brands had diplomacy.

….poor signing that Gbamin was based on his injury record, it’s no coincidence that PSV are doing well and we have sunk like a stone since Benitez forced Brands out.

Well do a thread about how Brands 3 years went at the club and we can all discuss his signings and how the club changed from his arrival to his departure.

A complete outsider looking in, but it felt like the last adult leaving the room when he left.

Played in France without a serious injury record.
Played in Germany (thanks Rita) without serious injury.
Signed for Everton.
Spontaneously combusted quad(?) muscle in the first few weeks of his 5 year contract and then just as the atoms realigned his achilles ruptured whilst peeing about playing football tennis.
Finished as a top level footballer.
Loaned to dross.
Put all his Everton related clothing and memorabilia on eBay and became the legend we deserved.
Currently picking up his last years wages playing Wii bowling in his front room surrounded by lap dancers.
LEGEND.
Another player who will become a multi millionaire thanks to efc.

Don't be so daft.
He was signed carrying an injury, it was made worse by him being played before it had time to heal and he's been under almost constant medical attention ever since.
The club signed him, the club knew he was injured at the time, the club played him, so the club is contractually and honour bound to do their best by him medically until such time as he either moves on or his contract expires.
To accuse him of just taking the money and doing nothing, having no ambition etc shows your ignorance.
No, if he'd had any ambition he wouldn't still be here.

I know that's his legal right btw, but it's a million times different to a random punter like one of us wanting a redundancy payment.

There’s absolutely no way he’s taking a pay cut, so therefore there’s absolutely no way he’s leaving. He would happily let another year of his career rot away before he gave up a penny.
